Whether or not it was a cheap shot, I love the swager the Broncos D has right now. It is the most overlooked, underrated component of BSU's game.

BSU's D is playing very well, and I tend to agree that the swagger they have right now is a good thing. I think the series after this hit on Rodgers though it got a little out of control with the taunting and standing over people, it could have cost them or could in the future.

Their D is mean and I like it.. I loved the mean nasty players like Ronnie Lott, Jack Tatum, most of the Raiders teams of old and this Boise team (I wish BYU's defense would play with the same level of intensity and swagger)...

When your other arguments fail go to the old stand-by, anyone that doesn't praise every play is a hater, sorry dabrokburger you missed this one.

I really like FN and RC, I'd be happy to see BSU have a great season for them to enjoy.

As others have stated.. Rodgers was coming out to make a block so Katz could get around. Venable was running to catch Katz and Rodgers got knocked right into his path. Venable lowered his shoulder and head in preparation for the hit (Which at full speed was coming quick and he saw him just before the hit (He was withing 2 yards of him) as he was looking at the QB up until that pont.)..

It easy to call it cheap when your are a Boise hater...

They were going over plays of the weekend on First Take and Rodgers punt return was on it. Skip Bayless gave him a 6 out of 10 for it because shortly after he didn't know who he was.

It looked to me that he was going after the QB when Rodgers got in his path while trying to make a block on the BSU CB on the outside. Venable did lower his head when he saw that Rodgers was in front of him but his goal on that play was to stop the QB. When he saw that Rodgers was in his way, it looked like he tried to blow the whole thing up and Rodgers was the one that felt the brunt of it. It didn't look like head hunting and it didn't look cheap to me. It was unfortunate that Rodgers didn't see it coming.

If a BYU receiver got hit like that I would not think it was dirty. I would think it was unfortunate.

I agree 100%. Be prepared to be called Flyburger now.

Katz showed quite a bit of athleticism, for a big white boy, on that play. His ability to keep his knee off the turf and turn the corner surprised me. I think that he will be one helluva quarterback in the next year or two. Great size, good mobility, strong arm. He just needs to work on his accuracy and vision. Lots of upside with the kid.

I just watched it for the first time. I didn't think it was dirty. I think Rogers got pushed up right at the last second and Venable was already going full speed and decided to try and blow through Rogers rather than slow down and go around. The helmet to helmet was bad, but Rogers' head was pushed way down already. Its not like Venable could have got much lower.
