Either way, the dude has problems holding onto the ball.

They didn't end up hurting BYU this time around but it is only a matter of time when it will.
Maybe OC can't bend his middle finger, thus he didn't mean to flip the bird but he was just clenching his fist. This might also explain his fumbling issues.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

yea, I wish I didn't get nervous when he has his hands on the ball. On the other hand, I guess whoever is backing him up would make me even more nervous. In this case I know he isn't starting because of the culture and his serving a mission.

Reminds me of my time at the Y when Byron Rex gave a double bird to the Hawaii crowd. There was much indignation on campus for about week, mainly among those who had never in their life played a sport.

It's like they coat the thing in butter especially for him right before he's about to get a touch.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I am not saying this is good, but gestures like that and yes the infamous F-word are not as offensive in society, even mormon culture as it once was. We, LDS, lag the culture in general, but eventually catch up most of the time.

Heck, about 15 years ago a kid was pitching in my sons legion game. He was from St. George. Something bad happened, maybe a bad pitch can't remember, and he screams the F word. A few kids giggle, but no real reaction. The guy I was coaching with was my kids HS seminary principal. He walked over to me non chalantly (sp) and said, "you know that pitcher for St. George is leaving for the Cleveland mission in a week". I looked at him funny and he just let me know the current crop of kids don't see words and gestures in the same way we did when we were kids.

Didn't Byron have to sit out a game and issue an apology? Or is my memory not as good as it used to be?

LOL. That is awesome. I had never seen that before. Joe Glenn's finger to Whit is my favorite.

I think my favorite part of that whole debacle was the fact that after the game Glenn claimed to "not remember" flipping Whittingham off. LOL!
