Pretty easy question. I anticipated they would be good this season, and they played to my expectations. I maybe thought the run game would be better, but I thought the receivers would be worse.

Either way, it's awful nice to have the next month be for fine-tuning in preparation for that trip to Ames, Iowa.

More, because Pitt was one of the three regular season games I thought we could lose. While Pitt had a chance to win the game, Utah had multiple chances to really put Pitt away, as well as multiple double-digit leads.

I had questions about Utah's defense and they seem to answer them pretty well last week.

Secondary, O-line, and LB were better than I expected. D-line, QB, WR, and RB were as I expected. Nobody significantly underperformed in my book. Course, I had some low expectations from the LB's and was worried about the secondary. My current concern is that the DLine made the LB's look better than they really are.

The biggest surprise was how effective the OLine was. We could get 3 yards up the middle anytime we wanted. Cullen played well, but I don't think Romeus was at full speed. Still, no sacks against a team that led the country last year is a definite plus.

Going in to the season I thought Utah was going to be pretty damn good. After watching that Pitt game I am not so sure. 3 turnovers, a blocked punt, 12 penalties, blown assignments on both sides of the ball. It was ugly, chalk it up to being the first game maybe? but like most Whittingham coached teams they lack discipline and eventually it is going to bite them in the ass. Good thing they are a bunch of pussies and are playing one of the weakest schedules in the country.

I didn't see anything that would change my sentiments about TCU, Notre Dame and BYU -- all lock losses.

When I read your thoughts on Utah I am often reminded of my favorite quote from "Braveheart: 'well I guess that was a little less cordial than what he is used to.'"

Pitt hosts Miami in two weeks.

Does anyone's opinion change if the Hurricanes win by double digits?

By less optimistic junkie is saying he was hoping Utah was overrated and bad. He actually picked Pitt to win by a margin.

Coming from cougjunkie, this almost makes me think the Utes could go undefeated.
