I had the same reaction. Under the circumstances, it probably gave us the best shot to win.

I think it was Prassas.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostI can't remember the defender's name (just as well), but the missed tackle on OSU's go-ahead TD was very fortunate. Had he not missed, OSU wold have had first and goal at the 2- or 3-yard line and would have eaten up clock, denying BYU one of the all-time great comeback drives. Give the defender a helmet sticker.
My oldest watched the game with me, and I told her earlier in the game that it felt like an old WAC shootout where the last team with the ball would win. OSU has a history of playing that type of game, too.

I had the exact same thought when they scored. I have a really hard time actually advocating letting your opponent score a go ahead touchdown, but I was almost happy when they punched it in and left us over a minute.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostI can't remember the defender's name (just as well), but the missed tackle on OSU's go-ahead TD was very fortunate. How many times out of ten do we come away with a TD there?

You're welcome!Originally posted by Donuthole View PostI blame the thread title.
Didn't read the thread until now. Was too busy hugging and high fiving strangers. I had complete confidence we would win hence the title. My faith only wavered once...on that 4th and 7.
What a game and what a season.

I have spared you guys my spam of curse words this season but really today was the only game where they were flowing. Man, what a ride!

That’s my quarterback. What a drive. One for the ages.

Ha, same. I went from “nice run to the sideline” to “what’s he doing?” to “he just covered a third of the field” over the course of that one.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View Post
Very true. I was very displeased when he turned inside instead of running OB but he then picked up 20 critical yards to set up the final play. I'm glad he's playing and not me. A drive for the ages.

Yep. Final drive was good Jake. Most of the game was bad Jake. But good Jake was just good enough. The step up into the collapsing pocket to drop the dime to Lassiter was the stuff of legends.Originally posted by Joe Public View PostOn that last drive, Jake:
-hit that 4th and 8 pass to stay alive
—had the long scramble to cover enough yards to get in position for the TD
-found Lassiter for the game winner.
I know this wasn’t his best game overall, but that was a clutch final drive with all sorts of weight on his shoulders.
