I guess we do now.
Do we have a Wyoming game thread yet?

It's not the destination anyone should put on their bucket list. Still, veteran fans of the WAC and MWC days know the drive well enough. I'm happy to watch this game from home.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostDang it. I was just about to start one. "Laramie is a horrible place." (quoting Retzlaff).
I was looking at the results of the series all time, and looks like we lost both years I was on my mission--part of the black hole in my memory as a fan. And that 1996 WAC Championship game in Vegas was fun.
The BYU is favored by 10.5--not enough! The over/under is 39.5. I'm not sure if BYU will get to 40, so maybe go with the under.
I look forward to watching the much improved defense again, and hopefully seeing the offense make some good progress in putting things together. Retzlaff will settle down and play much better against a weaker defense.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I thought the over/under was all scores combined. So an over/under of 39.5 and BYU favored by 10.5 indicates a predicted final score of BYU 25, Wyoming 14.5.Originally posted by Bo Diddley View Post

I think what Mr. Diddley was trying to imply is that BYU will hold Wyoming scoreless.Originally posted by All-American View Post

Correct. AA's question highlights three things: I'm often too subtle, AA has likely learned I'm not very good with numbers, and his level of certainty of the over/under leads me to believe he's never placed a sporting bet.Originally posted by Pelado View Post

Never underestimate the amount of sheer hatred they have for BYU. Combine that with the embarrassment of having lost their first two games to teams that weren't thought to be very good at the beginning of the season and I think you're going to get one of those "last stand" type efforts. The thing is, both of those teams are proving to be good. Idaho nearly beat Oregon; they are a tough out. I'm guessing WYO is nowhere near as bad as it has appeared and that this game will be closer than any of us would like it to be. I'm glad the game is happening in the warm part of the season.

Agreed it is much better to go there in September than November. Also generally agree on their hatred for BYU but also it can be overstated. When I was a relatively recent graduate I went to a BYU game in Laramie with a buddy who was a recent Wyoming grad and sat with him in the student section with BYU gear on. Maybe I just got a good bunch around me because while there was ribbing as expected it was actually super fun. It probably helped that they were very mediocre and Max Hall had our team humming and eventually hung 52 on them so they weren't expecting to have a chance.Originally posted by SteelBlue View PostNever underestimate the amount of sheer hatred they have for BYU. I was spot on in my predictions of the first two games. So I'll take my shot here. This won't be competitive by the 3rd quarter and we will win by more than 14 points.
