As an impartial observer, I thought the officiating was pretty terrible. I saw at least 3 false-start penalties on Stanford go uncalled. The PI call that took away the INT was bad, especially considering Stanford's DB's were essentially given free reign to hold and grab the Oregon receivers. There was a no-call on a PI in the second quarter where the Stanford linebacker was completely draped all over Oregon's TE before the ball was ever thrown. Even after the ball was thrown to that TE, there was no call. Lots of holding by the Stanford Oline went uncalled as well.

Have trouble believing that the Beavers in Corvallis have lost the will to live. Reminds me of when OU would lose a big game and people would remark how all of Oklahoma was suffering without considering the Cowboy fans of OK st. who were smiling.Originally posted by clackamascoug View PostThe whole state is on suicide watch. Had to work late, so I didn't get to watch the game. Listened to the fourth quarter on the Oregon IMG Network though. I have to say that the Oregon radio guys are the most whiney homers I have ever heard. Apparently, the refs did not call a single penalty on Stanford the entire game, even though Stanford committed a major penalty on every down (usually some kind of personal foul that was egregious and right in front of the refs). And apparently it is pathetic for Stanford fans to celebrate a victory over the #2 ranked team in the country, because ... after all ... it is just one game.Last edited by UVACoug; 11-08-2013, 07:02 AM.

It's cute that you're thinking about my posts before you go to bed. Maybe one day in the near future I'll remember and think about a post of yours. Not likely, but anything is possible.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostCan you save me the trouble of looking up your dumb post about stanford? That PI that was called that took away the Oregon interception was big. It was a terrible call and instead of turning the ball over Stanford scored a TD two plays later. There were lots of other bad calls. It's tough watching Pac 12 games sometimes because of the officiating. It's a problem.

Indirect. You played Purdue between those games. Not sure what a bearing is in football though.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostI don't think it is stupid, DAT is a freak of nature athlete but he's started to become an I not we. A lot of the students were wearing "Nerdnation" t-shirts. And while I haven't been to a Stanford game in a long time, that's the loudest I've ever heard it there (something the post-game announcers observed as well). As was obvious, that game was won in the trenches, and by Gaffney carrying a school record 45 times. Next week's game with USC could be very interesting, as Stanford has struggled on the road the past couple of games (Oregon State and some other team). The halftime presentation was also good, retiring Elway's jersey, only the third time Stanford has retired a jersey (Plunkett and Ernie Nevers).Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostAwesome. And it was fun to stand among fans while having no skin in the game. Lots of stupid comments and very biased observations, pretty much like everywhere else. I felt bad for HFN and wish the first 55 minutes had been as exciting as the final five, but the credit goes to Stanford's lines that were so dominant.

John McEnroe had the best line about the Farm. Something along the lines: 3 out of 4 Californian girls are beautiful, the other one goes to Stanford.
