The only reason BYU didn't make this list was because of religious discrimination I'm sure.Originally posted by beefytee View PostLatest QS World University Rankings are out.
All Pac 12 non-"state" schools made the top 200 except Oregon and Utah.

Well, considering that this thread was started by a BYU fan who was delighted by comments critical of Utah, I guess we Ute fans need to take a page from your book and get better at finding lists of universities that are recognized for academic excellence, but don't include BYU. Then we can start pointing them out to you guys. Academic recognition smack is even weaker than attendance smack.Originally posted by falafel View PostWho said anything about BYU?“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

Thank you for the defense LA, but I brought up BYU because I am appalled that they were not included on the list. A fact I would have expected beefytee (a supposed BYU fan or graduate) should have noticed and therefore immediately known that the list was unreliable and therefore irrelevant.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostWell, considering that this thread was started by a BYU fan who was delighted by comments critical of Utah, I guess we Ute fans need to take a page from your book and get better at finding lists of universities that are recognized for academic excellence, but don't include BYU. Way to go, Utes! Right up there with Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg. Maybe next year you can pass the École Polytechnique Federale of Lausanne.Originally posted by beefytee View PostAin't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

The University of Heidelberg is the oldest university in Germany. The city was in my mission and it was loaded with hotties.Originally posted by falafel View PostWay to go, Utes! Heidelberg and Wiesbaden were the two largest cities in Germany that weren't completely destroyed in WWII. I'm not exactly sure why, but supposedly the allies wanted to have a couple towns with some intact infrastructure as they headed towards Berlin.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

The point was not that Utah sucks academically, which I don't believe at all.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostWell, considering that this thread was started by a BYU fan who was delighted by comments critical of Utah,.
The point was that Utah now belongs to a conference where the other members think that it sucks.
I believe Utah will swiftly prove its prowess on the gridiron. Too bad the scholastic kudos will not come so easily.
