My expectations are extremely high and somewhat unrealistic. Same as every year.

I think you're giving him more rope than the administration will give him. 6 wins or more, and he is safe. 5 wins is a hot seat, and his job security will depend on whether there are other indicia of progress. If BYU gets 4 wins or less, I think that will be the end.

This will be earth-shattering analysis, but to get the over we will need a QB to materialize. I don't dislike either of the frontrunners for the job, but don't know if either can get us to 5 wins. I would like to be surprised.

Seems like most BYU beat reporters think Kalani is axed with anything below 6 wins. Maybe if the defense performs well but the offense struggles he can get away with 5 wins and firing ARod. But I'm not particularly excited for this season and have no expectations that an entertaining product will be fielded.

Not particularly confident in any wins. Hopeful.

I hope you're right. Jay Drew from the Deseret News is the one reporting it. https://www.deseret.com/sports/2024/...20the%20opener

Although coach Kalani Sitake said sophomore LJ Martin, expected to be RB1 in 2024, practiced on Wednesday, multiple sources have told the Deseret News that Martin is not participating in contact drills and quite likely will not be available to play in BYU’s first three or four games.

Martin is recovering from a shoulder injury suffered in spring camp. He was not made available for interviews following practice Wednesday despite having been requested, a usual sign that there’s an injury issue.

Jack Kelly is such a perfect white linebacker name I'm worried we'll lose this kid to Iowa or Nebraska.

I do like BYU and Utah wearing home jerseys though.
Agree on the home jerseys for BYU-Utah but I like some of the alternative uniforms, too. My favorite is the royal with black.

The royal blue helmet isn't the best and the full royal for the Utah game is dumb. It looks almost purple in person. Side note: the holy war stealing the UCLA/USC tradition of both teams wearing home jerseys is also dumb. It makes sense for the UCLA/USC game because it has its origins when they both played their home games at the coliseum. But the holy war has no tradition for it other than copying something else.
Bro we're such grumpy old men about these things! I love it!
