Just read an interview where he says he broke his foot and is having surgery this week. Said recovery time expected to be 6 weeks. Honestly, that seems kind of fast for a 300 pound guy with broken foot, even if there is a screw holding it together.

Helaman Casuga not having BYU in his top 3 sucks.

All the old guys will be able to attend now so they can get home by bedtime.

You ought to think it allows you to get back to the paradise that is Mini-Cassia at a reasonable time. You might even be able to slide in a late dinner at Maddox Steak House in Perry, UT on the way home! They got a Bison Ribeye that is divine!

This is how college football should be. BYU has finally found itself in a situation that fits them.
    Same.

I guess some injuries are starting to pile up and it appears that might have been the reason for the less potent 2nd half offensively. Also some of these young studs in the BYU's defensive backfield grew up a little bit on Saturday. Despite that BYU still won- I think because of improved depth at BYU and also because Baylor isn't one of the better Big 12 teams.

A bye at a good time to see if enough of these injured guys can come back and giving BYU 2 weeks to prepare the back ups for those who won't be back. AZ has some talent on both sides of the ball, but BYU is certainly good enough to win this game.

Being undefeated after 5 is lovely and all, but I am in the camp with those who just live in the present. If BYU can get through the next 4 games on its schedule with 2 losses the CCG becomes a dream that might come true. If they can get through it with 1 loss folks can dream about the playoffs. I really have no clue what I would predict because of the parity in the Big 12. So I say get healthy and beat Arizona and I will worry about that when the time comes.

I'm just thanking my lucky stars for Jay Hill. I'm also thankful for the man behind the curtain, Gary Anderson.

SB I think your predictions are very reasonable. That would be a 10-win season which ESPN FPI now pegs at 38% probability. FPI also currently has us favored in every remaining game except UCF and Utah. They also currently give a 15% chance of BYU winning the Big 12 and a 24% chance to make the CFP.

As far as beating utah I would still give them the edge if Rising is back and healthy. But we will see how the season goes on. Their defense is still the best in the Big 12 but Arizona really gashed them in critical moments. Also their offense is really subpar and I'm not sure getting Rising back automatically fixes that.

We have never had a team with these resources. We have never rooted for a BYU with this depth. I thought it would take 5 years or so before the P5 teams felt like peers in terms of roster. It seems we are much closer than that.

what are your adjusted predictions for rest of season?
    Mine:

UA: W. The cats will be coming off a tough game against TT while the Cougs will have had a bye week to prepare.

OSU: 50/50 but I’m going W Night game, revenge game in Provo and a chance to get to 7-0 are enough motivation to get this one done.

UCF: L. UCF is built to do well the things that BYU historically has the most trouble with. I feel mildly more optimistic about this one after Colorado tore them apart but still, I think this is where the undefeated streak ends.

Utah: L Rising will be back most likely and we haven’t won there since Beck to Harline.

Kansas: W. I suspect that Kansas will have quit on the season by this time. Not sure Grimes makes it to this game as an employee. Hoping for a night game.

ASU: Another 50/50 but I’m going W again. They are certainly good enough to beat us, especially at home but I think we have a big crowd and I think we’re a little better. Might depend on who has the most to play for.

Houston: W. They will be in disarray. Coordinators will be looking for new homes and players will be focused on where they are transferring next year.
