The disparaging comment is "STRINGPULLER."Originally posted by LA Ute View PostI do recall that our dear Goatnapper had great fun with the whole thing and mocked me mercilessly and most cruelly (I have since forgiven him) because Riley Nelson was not really a top-drawer QB and would be lucky to play second string at BYU. Therefore, Ute fans who criticized Bronco for taking advantage of Nelson's mission to spirit him away from USU were [insert favorite Goat attack on masculinity and basic intelligence].

Goat, can you clarify what you mean by stringpuller? At first I thought you meant it's someone who yanks your chain, but the context doesn't fit. I actually googled and found a reference as military slang as someone who's in the front lines pulling the string for a cannon or something like he's a peon.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostThe disparaging comment is "STRINGPULLER."

I prefer loser. Sorry ALUF's, that's really the only way to describe it. I get an SU, who can crack on Bronco and the church and the fan base at the same time. LA Ute and that a-hole with the Navy ship in his avatar can't remember his name, guys like that who get up in arms about the hypocrisy of BYU from an LDS perspective, the only word for it is loser.Originally posted by SoCalCoug View PostToo many big words. I never thought of it pulling a string for a cannon, but I guess that could fit! Perhaps closer to a water cannon or something like that............Originally posted by jay santos View PostGoat, can you clarify what you mean by stringpuller? Switch hitter. Can you be kind and sarcastic and judgmental at the same time? For example, I were to say, "My religion is kindness," and then act like a prick, would that make me a hypocrite??Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostAnd I love your ability to mock the monolithic mindset and practices of the culture when it suits you, and then, when facts and circumstances would undercut that line of attack, you go after the myriad inconsistencies, divergences and philosophical differences that are out there.Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.

Aw, now you're calling me names. This is very disappointing - not to mention cruel, because you know how sensitive I am.Originally posted by jay santos View PostI prefer loser. And hypocrisy, as I've often said, is an overused and often misused word. I honestly don't see any hypocrisy in Bronco. I am just tweaking what looks to me like disingenuous sanctimony - a subject on which BYU fans seem a little sensitive. But I am sure Bronco tries to be a good guy, despite occasional verbal diarrhea, and I am guessing that nothing he ever says gets wince out of you.
You see, this is why I am glad you came out of hiding to remind us of your genius. You miserable vomitous mass.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostThe disparaging comment is "STRINGPULLER."

There is a certain feminine hygiene product that includes a string to be used when one wishes to pull out the used product. Thus "stringpuller." OK, take me through the West Point logic here:Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostThere is a certain feminine hygiene product that includes a string to be used when one wishes to pull out the used product. - A year or two back, I snarkily point out (on the Ute board, I might add) that Bronco is getting a redshirt-free player from an in-state rival by taking advantage of the LDS mission rule.
- You respond that I am a string-puller because...well, I guess there doesn't have to be a reason.
- And with great hilarity, you point out the absurdity of my attack because Riley is really not very good and will at best back up whoever BYU chooses as its next
Heisman winnerstarting QB.
- Now, I again snarkily point out that according to the news, young Riley may end up starting this year over
the next Joe MontanaJake Heaps. And I say, "Gee, Goat, how about that?"
You know, ribbing? They do that in the Army, I hear.
And now I am being called all sorts of hateful names. It's not easy being me on this board, that's all I can say.“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”
