I was texting with someone during the game about this very fact (but he was too busy having to listent to his FIL talk about how Utah "basically won" both in the Rose Bowl and Swamp). I'm guessing Brooks is a little better than Katoa, just based upon the fact coaches give him more carries. But he is nothing like Allegier (even though their stats vs Baylor were equally putrid). Brooks has no shift or lateral movement in the hole. Tyler ran a lot like LeVeon Bell he was excellent at setting up blocks with small side jumps, and a quick change of pace. Brooks may still prove to be a valuable asset but BYU fans were very spoiled to have found a diamond in the rough like Tyler was.

This is what seems to be lacking IMO. I'm not ready to give up on him. Baylor has a tough run D.

I read we’re the team rallied around Brent Johnson. Marc Wilson blamed his interceptions, and other players. Can’t blame one play. The o lineman with false start didn’t help. Baylor kicker missed some too. Two false starts on Baylor too.
Kickers are remembered for wins and loses. Bsu went unbeaten and played at Reno kicker missed a couple field goals. Wonder how much security he needed in Boise.

who remembers BYU Utah game Utes returned touchdown then got ball back again. Utah player did some kind of dance driving down for Grandma. How dumb can one be? Then kicker drinker. McBride was on his case. No one else was though. Emotionally be tough on kicker when they miss game winning kicks.

Brooks is ripped. Almost too ripped- maybe he's too heavy to be quick. He doesn't have that burst that Algier had, but he is a freight train when he has a full head of steam. IMO that is what has made him effective running the option w Hall.
