  • 2022 High school season

For those that follow. Andy Toolson and Deep Throats eastern neighbor had good college recruit defect to Mike Simpsons birthplace. Coach had reputation of “recruiting”. Came over there from Senator territory this year.

I don’t know if he did but had several out of district students start High School there probably to play football. Need to say if your freshman coach did not say word.

Twitter had someone leaving the land do St. Joseph to play at Clarkston Washington. Neighbor of ours tweeted schools that offered him. Dartmouth small Kentucky schools. Wonder if this will be last gig. Have kid from stinky town playing so he can do varsity. Central Idaho now team that shares mascot with Texas Mexico border town team that beat BYU for there sole win after winning nc wants to co op with team that shares same mascot as Ricks. One was powerhouse.

does village named after boxing movie, Stoney not far from town that I believe Orson F. Whitney or some other apostle stayed, produced democratic lds governor that had relatives start prominent bank in David B Haights neighborhood, and in order to atone for producing Sonja Johnson produced the greatest beehive hoops coach ever, town not far from there how will they do? Stake President and a couple nephews three cousins not brothers will make noise. Is a cousin of a Seattle byu qb great that played for Raiders same time as Jim Plunkett and Todd Christianson going to start to make noise. Don’t know if he is related to qb or not but shares last name.

Elvis Medinas Alma mater petitioned down for football. Central Idaho sled dawgs will be tough. Jerry Kramer’s Alma maters neighbors could be tough again. Craters of moon neighbors to west up Div will have tough time.

Dont know how tough Jr Simplots Alma mater will be this year. Will Lou Dobbs and Uncle Teds get past first round this year. Don’t know much about Eastern Idaho or Treasure Valley. Hopefully pr announcer does not butcher too many names this year.

I talked to my old high school football buddy who is one of the coaches. He is not too sure about this year's team. It might be a tough year for them.

Gatlin Bair is a great athlete-Taysom Hill and Keegan Duncan type of natural athleticism levels. He might be the top player on both sides of the ball in 4A. He outplayed Gooding's Loveland, now at Michigan, when he was a true freshman. All of his older brothers were stud track athletes and most are full scholarship decathletes, but this one seems to be the best at translating all that God given athletic ability into team sports. And he is also the pure fastest and that high end speed helps immensely in football. I really hope BYU picks him up as a safety, Gatlin. has an NFL body and while it is really tough to make conclusions about what type of football player he is competing at even higher classification levels in Idaho I think he has football instincts. The last real NFL body Idaho had at the smaller classification levels (3A and below) was Keegan Duncan from Declo. While I thought Keegan also had an NFL body I had questions as to what type of football player he was. Keegan just ran away from folks because he was so fast-he rarely just ran over folks. Duncan wasn't dominant on defense like he should have been IMO. Gatlin is a much bigger fan of contact and demonstrated better football instincts than Duncan as a freshman- and Gatlin is faster. I think he could bulk up another 20 lbs and keep his high end speed.

Saying all that-no idea why the family moved from Kimberly to Burley. There is better Mexican food in Burley but other than that I much rather live in Kimberly. Also means I won't see him at the State Track Meet.

Speaking of Elvis Medina and the Castleford Wolves, I always think that ought to be the name of a war criminal thug militia from Serbia, we play both Castleford and Dietrich in weeks 3 and 4 respectively this year so I will have strong opinions on who from this side of the state will get the chance to play Kendrick for all the marbles in mid November.

Burley? There is nothing good in Burley and the Mexican food sucks there. Didn't they only win like two games last year?

They haven’t been to postseason since mid 1990,s. See what there coach does. We had some neighbors bolt to that coach to play football. Signed with Isu and Eastern Washington respectively neither played a down of college football. Kids who said to have Stanford and Utah State looking at them. They are not that good. One said he hoped to play in the pro,s. Ha ha.

Mcray Mort signed with College of Idaho planned to go to Idaho State. Plans on playing professional football but I don’t see him on any foster. From Burley. Several senators are playing college ball now. Will he turn Burley around?

Gatlin Bair alone makes Burley good.

I disagree on the Mexican food assessment. The best molcajete that has passed my delicate lips was from a joint in Burley- besides I don't think the original claim was of exceptional Mexican food in Burley but rather it being better than that in Kimberly. Places named after mining towns in South Africa don't usually have good Mexican grub!

                  That is he.

Check out his track stats on athletic.net.

The first game he played as a freshman in football he sloberknocered Loveland early in quarter 1 and I don't think Loveland had another reception that day. Loveland had never been hit like that before at the Idaho 3A level. He adjusted and had a much better game this past year, Bair's sophomore season, but Gatlin has the potential to be an NFL player at either Safety or WR IMO.

                  * Edit- Gatlin comes from a huge track family so while his 100 times are really impressive understand he is way developed as a "racer." He is next level fast but his 100's are from kid who has been running competitive track his whole life and whose parents were both D1 Decathlete/Heptathlete and who has had 3-4 brothers go on to full ride decathlon scholarships already. He has been coached very well on all 3 phases of the 100 meter dash well so there may be others as fast or faster than Gatlin who don't know how to "race" yet and thus don't have the times he has.

For some reason, Corner Canyon v. Bingham is on one of the OTA channels (Stadium) in SoCal. Wilson’s younger brother can sling it pretty well.

But Kimberly is like a suburb of Twin... Twin has better mexico food than Burley.

Gatlin, unless he grows a couple of more inches, I see him playing as a defensive back at the next level. Does Burley have anyone that can throw deep to this kid?

Throw it to him? Just give it to him 2 a quarter on a jet sweep. He can either score or run out of bounds. Dorky kids with their socks cranked up too high and often wearing an OL number score on that play in 8 man games repeatedly-just because they are fast. The beauties of 8 man football- #57 as a skill player, every kick off is toe kicked and there is never an odd number for either teams score!

Yeah, burley couldn’t throw either when I was in high school… and their o line sucked too. Running outside might work for them until the defense adjusts.
