Who is BYU's best running back since 2002?

Poll includes each RB who led BYU in rushing for at least one season during that time. Is anyone else deserving of consideration? I considered adding Taysom Hill since he led the team in rushing in 2013-2014, but I'm restricting this list to rostered running backs.

Ty'son could have had a special season. He was so good.

For those of you voting for anyone other than Harvey Unga, in what way(s) was the player you selected better than Harvey?

          Jamaal had higher top-end speed.

Your poll rightly implies that they are all vying for second place. Luke is the all time great.

Harvey and Baby J are almost equal in my mind. I gave Williams the edge because he played tougher competition.

We've had some decent running backs. I'd probably say 1. Jamaal 2. Harvey 3. Allgeier. All were great college RB's.

I had an amygdala response seeing the names Marcus Whalen and Reynaldo Braithwaite. I don't remember it perfectly. I just know I hold trauma in the body somewhere related to those names.

Total rushing yards and YPC? Is this a trick question?

he was better at running with a football in his hands and other college football players on opposing teams trying to tackle him. he was also a better at blocking the bad guys from getting the quarterback when he didn't have the ball.

unga was better at catching the football - so point for him! he was good too.

Unga was the best. Jamaal is 1A. Curtis isn't on the same level talent-wise as those guys but was very good and SO reliable: never got hurt and never fumbled. (please no one look up fumble stats to prove me wrong because this is how I remember it).

My head knows Jamaal is the best, but my heart knows that Unga had two wins against Utah and so I voted for him.

No votes for Squally? What's wrong with you people?

                          Not a trick question.

YPC favors Jamaal by more than I would have thought (5.4 to 5.0).

The total rushing yards title would likely still belong to Harvey had he been allowed to play his senior season. Of course, that may be short-changing Jamaal a bit since he missed quite a bit of one season with injuries.

I remember Jamaal being a very good blocker with great ball control. Both players, in fact, rarely lost fumbles. I don't remember any problems with Harvey's blocking. I don't think he was called upon to block as much as Jamaal - perhaps because he was so valuable catching the ball out of the backfield.

Harvey may still hold the RB record for total yards from scrimmage (in spite of not having played his senior season).

Allgeier is in that discussion as well.

Don’t know if he ever fumbled, but he dropped a wheel-route TD on the first play of the Holy War which we then lost in OT, allowing Utah to become bowl eligible. Which gave rise to a year of Brett Ratliff/ redshirt year of Brian Johnson, and this the Sugar Bowl. So much worse than a fumble.
