We have a halloween special on Saturday night. Here are a few reasons to cheer against Bronco:
1) He gave us some good years and elevated the program from the Gary Crowton disaster, but the way he left will never sit well with me. Clearly he never felt much loyalty to the program or university and viewed it as just another job. Cleaned out the entire staff and skipped town.
2) He now recruits against us. Somehow he convinces gullible local kids to go all the way across the country to play for him and he plays up the LDS staff angle. Jerk.
3) He had a horrendous record against our rival. Somehow found a way to come out flat every year and lose close games to utah. Will never forgive him for that.
4) Every now and then he would pull off an upset (Nebraska for example), but he rarely seemed to get the team ready for big games. His bowl record was awful.
5) "Football is fifth". Well, obviously. See prior two items.
6) Shortly after leaving, he said that BYU didn't have much of a future and that we would never make it into a P5 league. Choke on it, Bronco.
7) His clock management was so bad it was laughable. Remember when he burned a bunch of timeouts to ice the kicker on an extra point?
8) He is a huge dork. The dumb names for his kids, the cheesy quotes and slogans, the "spirit - tradition - honor" jersey debacle, taking himself way too seriously, pretending to be some kind of intellectual, etc. Good riddance.
I hope we obliterate them.
