I have a hard time believing that Asiata can stay healthy for an entire season. I hope he can by sharing time with Wide.

I also have to think that Shakerin will be pushing hard for the #2 spot, further cutting into Asiata's carries.

2008 didn't prove he could stay healthy?

That ACL tear in Corvallis was a freak occurrence, and last year he was overworked. But I have no doubt both he and Wide can stay healthy.

ACL injury was last year. He broke his leg against Oregon State. You could hear the bone snap on the TV broadcast.

Along with the KSL mikes unexplainably getting within 6 inches of Quinn Gooch's screams against TCU a few years back, easily one of the more horrifying injuries I've seen in football.

You're right about 2008 as it relates to Asiata being able to stay healthy by sharing time with wide. He and Mack shared time that season and both benefited from it.

Exactly. Make it a 60/40 split with Wide on top and Asiata will remain fresh and effective all year.

Of course. Thanks for the correction.

That halftime, knowing BJ and Asiata were injured, was the longest, most nauseating 15 minutes I can remember.

That halftime was only 15 minutes?

Regardless, it seemed like an hour. And at the same time, about 2 minutes.

I sat in that stadium kind of stunned. What an unimaginably bad start to a season.
