On whether Harvey and his girl friend should have turned themselves in, I ask sincerely why should they have????

I have heard many say on the immigration issue that the church is correct in allowing undocumented's to have TR and just yesterday pleaded for cool heads, compassion and thinking of the family first. When asking the question about, how about supporting the law, I hear from conservative members that the law is wrong or not enforced or not fair.

Yet, some of these same conservative members think that Harvey and his girlfriend were honor bound to turn themselves in to BYU standards. Why, if as an organization you allow for others to avoid abiding by rules and reporting themselves, why do you expect a different standard when it comes to your organization.

I think they should report to their ecclesiastical leaders, that is a higher spiritual law. Reporting yourself to BYU standards is not a spiritual act.

so, basically there is no 'penalty' or recompense for breaking any commandment in the Catholic church?

          I'm sorry, that was bad. Yeah, I'm just . . . I apologize.
So visiting a prostitute could get real expensive? One payment to the prostitute and one to the priest? That would make anyone think twice.

BTW.........is there a fee schedule or is it up to the repentant sinner to come up with the amount? I honestly don't know.

If there is, I would need bulk rate discounts.

Does Sam's Club offer repentance and absolution?

The penalty was Jesus Christ dying for our sins.
