          • it is a pretty dumb account. even the name is unoriginal. At around 250 followers, sounds like a prank that never really got off the ground.

            • ESPN allegedly sets the criteria for Houston to join the B12

              http://www.underdogdynasty.com/2015/...ston-to-big-12

UCF seems to be a clear favorite to join should the conference decide upon expansion, but some "guidelines" have been set for the remaining two teams in the discussion.
The two schools would need to have an average attendance of 33,500 at home game in the 2015 season. For the University of Houston, which just opened a new stadium in 2014, the average attendance last season was 28,311. As for the Bearcats of Cincinnati, the school averaged a little fewer than 25,000 per home game in 2014. Should neither school make that goal, or both make that goal, other guidelines have been put into place such as facilities upgrades and on-the-field results during the season.
because, you know, the magic number has always been home attendance of 33,500.

              • Jay Saunders has sources inside ESPN: Houston, UCF, Cincy are targets

                https://www.football.com/en-us/break...on-cincinnati/

The Big 12 Conference appears to be discussing specific plans to expand the conference back to 12 teams. Sources tell me all three potential targets currently play in the American Athletic Conference, including the Houston Cougars.
The person behind the Twitter account @HoustonBig12 obtained information from “a person who works at ESPN with inside knowledge of college football," and shared that document with me.

Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby could offer teams like BYU, or Boise State. And with Oklahoma president David Boren painting a descriptive picture on how the pro rata language in the television contract actually benefits expansion, perhaps now is the time for the Big 12 to make its moves. Chuck Carlton of the Dallas Morning News explains it here.
BYU not only has a solid built-in audience and fan base, it comes with its own television network. Obviously travel is a concern, but a flight from Provo, Utah to Morgantown, West Virginia is less than 3.5 hours, so it’s absolutely a tangible reality for those working on the logistics.

Well, it is pretty close to the average home attendance of Kansas...

                    • The last chopper will rise from the US embassy into the blue above Saigon, and BYU will be left behind with the abandoned, huddled, terrified masses (I ripped this analogy off form MikeWaters). And the reason will have nothing to do with what you've all been discussing.
