Things are aligning for BYU to be in the BIG 12.
No talk about BYU being in from
1) The sports talking heads
2) All quiet from BYU, if they weren't going to be in, I think BYU would be
marketing stronger to CC members and telling them to keep their tickets.
I know myself and some others have stopped sending annual dues and not bought season tickets. That above all is a sure sign they will be getting in.
The "I told you so crowd" tends to also be quite a righteous, follow the brethern crowd. They will be rewarded for their long suffering and given the opportunity to preach BYU goodness.

What!?!? You used to be a dues-paying CC member and a season ticket holder!?!?!? You stopped sending in your annual dues and don't have season tickets anymore?!?! When did all of this happen? Why haven't you mentioned this before?Originally posted by byu71 View PostThings are aligning for BYU to be in the BIG 12.

Swaim is right. My sources (I don't have any) say that B12 is waiting to find out what the presidents decide regarding the playoff. All playoff eligible conferences must have a conference championship game, so B12 will be forced to add teams and a championship game.
All is well in zion!

I'm sure your sources are just as accurate as GSwaim's.Originally posted by Jacob View PostSwaim is right. Chip doesn't think Gswaim is a major idiot

If BYU doesn't joint with ND as a football only, then this could be a bad scenario for BYU. ND with a 6 (SIX!!) game deal with the Big 12 will put scheduling future BYU games in jeopardy with the Irish. That was one game that might have been possible for consistent November scheduling.
This may be the thing that pushes BYU in the the (gag) Big East.

Will be interesting to see if Big12 stands pat at 10 football and 11 other sports or they add a full member and BYU to the mix. Then BYU would chill waiting for ND to join as a full to get other sports in, which could take 4 E VER.

As much as I don't want BYU hoops to mire in the WCC, I would jump on a football only invite to the Big 12 right now. Last year, I would have held fast for a full invite, but they really just need to get a foot in the door...Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostWill be interesting to see if Big12 stands pat at 10 football and 11 other sports or they add a full member and BYU to the mix. Chip says something about BYU and the Big 12, but I don't know what. The little tidbit offered doesn't really say much except that everything is in the past concerning BYU and Big 12..

http://byu.rivals.com/default.asp?type=1And from there we know that TCU and WVU were added. Why did they add TCU and WVU over BYU? According to Chip, it was because of BYU's decision. "BYU turned away from the Big 12 first. So that was a downfall."Just as I suspected. When asked if the BigXII has any interest in BYU now, Chip responded that they have none.
So, many BYU fans will wonder if Sunday play was an issue. According to Chip, "The Big 12 could have worked around it when there was mutual interest. As time went on and other options presented themselves to the Big 12, BYU's Sunday play and LDS may have become more of a "high maintenance" factor."
