Stanford AD Bowlsby has been offered the Big 12 commissioner job.

Hopefully this gets the ball rolling and we can end this.

I thought stanford and Kal hate BYU?

Enlighten me. Are you saying 'end this' in the Mortal Kombat sense or in the he's-in-our-corner sense?

Hell if I know what it means. I actually like this hire (if it is so) for BYU's chances over someone from the east coast.

In our corner you hope. Got it. Sorry, I don't know the guy and honestly wondered if it was a positive for BYU.

I figure a little west coast perspective can't hurt, though Bowlsby is a midwestern guy. Was AD at Iowa for years and has been at Stanford since 2006. I too am just happy the Big12 is starting to do something.

True. Do he and Tom Holmoe have a good relationship?

If the legend is correct, the PAC AD's have never had a problem with BYU. It's the presidents that do.

What's that you ask? What does gswaim think about the Bowlsby hire? He says it's "bad news for BYU".

Interesting fact. Bob Bowlsby is from Waterloo, Iowa. The same place that gave the world Michele Bachmann and John Wayne Gacy.

gswaim also claimed that sources told him the Big 12 had hired a new AD 30 minutes after ESPN reported it on their website.

I have connections to Iowa. Get Bowlsby in an Amish barn, a barrel of corn syrup and some corn-fed prostitutes toting a digital camera and I can get BYU in fo' shizzle.

Someone on the internet says that "Clemson and FSU have an agreement in principal to withdraw from the ACC and compete in the Big 12 starting in 2013."

Not to be a downer, and not that "someone on the internet" has any credibility in this, but this is the kind of thing that makes sense. The viewers and the money are in the east for the Big 12, and with WV expanding their footprint, it's much more logical to round out their 12 in that direction rather than west.
