I thought the official release that stated the existing members had reached a verbal agreement of revenue sharing for the next six years was a legitimate different development and very positive towards the endstate of BYU in the Big-12, the rest were tweets and unnamed sources making the same wild asses conclusions/predictions we have seen for weeks.

Agreed. It was nice seeing something released officially by the B12.

That being said, the press release is contingent on all schools signing their rights away for 6 years. Since Mizzou doesnt even meet until tomorrow, it is unlikely that all schools have already signed their rights away for 6 years, which calls into question the Wed press conference mumbo jumbo.

I think your other side might gets its info from Twitter. I doubt anyone real close to the negotiations would have gotten that opinion. My guess is BYU was upfront that they were serious about improving their situation and the current situation of the Big 12 was so unstable that BYU did not view that as an improvement, but I think BYU believed that the Big 12 would sort itself out as OU and Texas had no where else to really go.

I don't think we will see Press Conferences like others are predicting, but I do think it is isn't inconceivable that the entire sordid affair will be complete by the end of next week. I don't see anyone other than Mizzou needing their inner thigh massaged. But I could be wrong. Stranger things have happened.

I don't think they will have the Little Brother stadium fest that the Utes had, but there will be some formal announcement made to stoke the masses and kick the fundraising drive into high gear. The iron will have never been hotter than the month in which BYU joins the B12.

- On the LHN and high school content... stated that NCAA has said it can show HS stats, standings, and "news". It is unclear if news includes HS highlights.

BYU also needs something to take the edge off of this disapointing football season. Big 12 admittance will release the heat on the staff. It also will make folks who view BYU football as I do very, very nervous. I just don't see BYU enjoying the benefits of BCS membership like other programs. Just as I thought BYU hoops could withstand a demotion to the WCC better than say San Diego State, I think that limiting of program floor is also limiting of heights. I think BYU will compete but I am not sure if the fanbase is ready to be happy with good years of only 8 wins.

I fear you are right. I am ready for that. I would MUCH rather win 8 games in the Big 12 and play in the Alamo Bowl than win 9 or 10 games in a season like this year with an Armed Forces Bowl game.
