Which Tech? I know there were some Va. Tech rumblings at some point.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Sorry. Texas Tech. The thinking was to expand their footprint in Texas with more than just A&M (that is, Texas A&M).

Oh, please, PLEASE, let that be true . . .

And as I think about it, why wouldn't it be? The SEC needs a 14th. It can go to West Virginia, Missouri, Louisville, or pick up another Texas school. Texas doesn't appear interested. Who's to say that Tech isn't the next best choice?

Nah, this is probably me, the BYU fan, being desperate.

How would this be good for BYU?

BYU's only chance in all of this is Big 12 stability.

                Unless Viking was right.

Yeah, I know, desperate. But that's kind of what it's come to, isn't it?

A number of different things, but one of the scenarios he predicted was that BYU would be joining the PAC-16. Something like that.

That BYU and not Tech would be the 16th Pac team.

Except Colorado won't have that, because it would put them in the same spot with OU, Okie State and Texas. Though a regional pod of Utah, BYU, ASU and Arizona would be fun.

He did say that, didn't he?

I wish it were next year already so he could clarify

No need to clarify, it's a done deal. Take it underneath the mattress.

I actually believe Viking was right with BYU going to the BIG 12 and an announcement, but Oklahoma threw the monkey wrench in it all. I still have a hard time with his prediction that BYU would be in the PAC instead of Texas Tech. I just don't see any love coming from the PAC... ever.

This is an interesting article regarding conference geography and the number of fans in different markets. BYU comes in at 43. I won't say what Utah came in at. I'm already bitter.
