FWIW, one can be in more than one stage at the same time. I was in all 5 simultaneously once. Doesn't feel good.

    ― W.H. Auden

"God made the angels to show His splendour - as He made animals for innocence and plants for their simplicity. But men and women He made to serve Him wittily, in the tangle of their minds."
-- Robert Bolt, A Man for All Seasons

I thought the most states you could be in at one time was 4, but you have to spread out on that little monument thing.

I'm just going through the classic stages of grief: denial, horniness, wisdom, sleepiness, and now depression.

Even if BYU gets into the Big 12, I'm still envious of the U. Don't get me wrong. I think Big 12 is a better opportunity football-wise. The league footprint's population will grow and football is only getting more popular in Texas.

However, I have a greater personal connection with the west coast than I do with the midwest and the destinations (should I every be as independently wealthy as the rest of the board and can travel to away games) are much better in the Pac 10.

            I'm at #4. I already suffered #2 for the last 20 years.

Where are you cougar fans? Seems like most of us are still on #2. I think I am going to skip #3. God obviously doesn't care about this one so it hardly seems worth the effort.

Then again, maybe this is all part of some divine plan...
I am in a stage that believes everything is going to be ok, in fact I would say I am actually relatively excited. This is good for Utah and I have a bit of jealousy, but in the end I genuinely believe the shakeup going on in college sports is good for BYU and BYU will come out of this in a better position than it currently stands. That is really what I care about most. I am still strongly persuaded that BYU will be in the Big-12.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

I don't see it. I wish I could, but I don't. Unless Ames, IA is mysteriously taken up in rapture, it would require a championship game. Dan Beebe had to use his testicles as collateral to keep TX and he won't be getting them back anytime soon because they're in a jar on DeLoss Dodd's desk. A Bigwhatever championship game is good for the league, but it's bad for TX (and OK).

I don't see how that changes. I hope I'm wrong.

I don't believe this. It has been very beneficial in vaulting them in the NC games. Nebraska also was able to make it in to a championship game even though the league had a championship game that it didn't participate in.

The big concern is 2 BCS slots which would affect the other schools more.

I don't think losing a Big XII Champ. game would usually exclude UT or OU from a BCS slot.
