        Time to chime in here...

I am jealous as hell and I worry about the impact this will on my beloved cougars, but I am happy for my many Ute friends here. I hope you give this all the enjoyment it deserves. Congrats.

Pretty much how I feel JL. My emotions are a bit tender right now but overall I am happy for my family and friends that are Utefans.

It is a big deal. Just try not to dance on BYU's grave too joyously. There are plenty of places to dance that don't involve our death.

I don't think that any dance can occur on BYU's grave. The reports of BYU's demise are greatly exaggerated. BYU is a good program with a great history, with which Utah has battled with and I look forward to battling well into the future.

I will rejoice on the days events, but recognize that the world is not a net sum zero game. Utah's gain is not BYU's loss.

I'm not happy at all for them. It's like David got a reverse circumcision and joined the Phillistine army a couple years after killing Goliath.

I think it is how you want to define it. BYU's sports teams will see very little impact IMO. Football recruiting will be about the same(maybe lose 1 possibly 2 kids you would have landed). FB results will be similar. Rose has a juggernaught brewing. I can't see BYU BBall taking a step back. Ditto with many of the minor sports.

Peoples perception, including some BYU fans(I think you likely fit this group IMO) may be that Utah has passed BYU by from a prestige standpoint. To me, that matters little. The results on the field is where it is at, and I think BYU loses very little there. Utah may be able to use this to leapfrog to heights that BYU won't be able to reach(esp if they remain in the MWC long term), but that leap is not at BYU's expense.

I realize that I may be a lone voice in the wilderness on this, but I stand by that statement and I don't feel that I am blowing smoke up anyones ass when I do it.

You need to tone it down.

I'm happy for IPU, JiC, MRD, BO, UD, D&F, MP, and LA (kind of).

I'm also happy for SU, but in kind of a being happy for a very deluded person kind of way. You know, when someone talks about being in a romance you know is not requited, or doesn't even exist, but you express happiness anyway and then make for the exit as fast as you can? That kind of way.

I'll get to the rest of you Ute Fans later.
                              Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
