Good for the Cougars. They seem to have SDSU's number this year. Hopefully they can start a run.

Too bad the Cougs could not handle Utah Valley last week. I know, I know, what the hell does that have to do with this game? I am pimping for UVU in support of my nephew (who hit a grand slam over the scoreboard in the game against BYU). I am proud of him.

Speaking of detuning you guys probably aren't old enough to remember the Magbat. They were all the rage in the late seventies and early eighties.

I think I used a Magbat. But the BOMBAT was the shit!(in fact I still have mine in the ball bag, my 9 yo likes using it)

I remember the Bombat too. There was also a brut called Goliath. I didn't use most of these bats as I was a little kid but my older brothers had them. My oldest brother is one of those guys who could put it out every at bat as long as the pitch was at least marginal. Not only that he could really hit for distance. I shudder to think what he could have done with a Freak.

The Freak is great cause you can basically bunt the ball over the fence. I crank the ball every time with the Freak and when the Freak ain't there and I have to use a Walmart Easton, I can swing my heart out and the ball goes 70% as far as the Freak, IF i'm lucky.
Yeah, I blame the bat, too, when I don't hit one over the fence. Or over the infield.

I still have mine, or at least did until the last year or two. Come to think of it, I didn't see it when we moved two weeks ago. My wife may have made me throw it out because the 2-year-old was hitting things with it.

Uh oh, the Utes are in trouble today. 7 runs for BYU in the first.

I spaced this game. Time to turn it on, I suppose.

BYU's offense was ridiculous the last week or two of the season. Something like 104 runs in 7 games. Except for Game 1 of this tournament, the Cougars are still putting up runs.

Probably a good time. BYU pitching is now falling apart and the score is 14-7.

College baseball. Gotta love it. Unless you're a pitcher.

                              Nope. Now it's 19-8 BYU.

Even my Red Foxes are down to Manhattan now. 3-2.

                                Ugh.
