Yes it was TIC. Hell, I confess, and this is not to turn this into a '71's bishop's office moment (oh the horror), but there were parts of the honor code system, albeit minor parts, that I found difficult to live by. I still consider myself to be an honorable person but my stalking swearing problems were out of control.

Why would a LDS pay tithing and keep other commandments? If the answer is to get a temple recommend, then why not just lie to the temple recommend questions?

Besides, I don't think I could tell the IRS I swore while at BYU and therefore don't really feel like paying for roads, schools, law enforcement, et al.

I'll be honest - this is the post that I'm waiting for PU's response to. Call me curious. I'm a little disappointed that he's responded to others but seems to have skipped this one.
