The owners voted to change overtime rules, applicable to postseason play only. There is still a coin toss and a kickoff. The first team to score a touchdown or a safety wins the game. If a team kicks a field goal, the other team has one possession to match with a field goal.

I saw a piece that said when they kicked off from the 35, it was about 50-50. But when they moved it back to the 30, it swung 60-40 for the team getting the coin flip. So why not just move it back to the 35 for kickoffs just for overtime?Comment
