If there was a QB coming out of college who was the exact opposite of Dan Marino in terms of almost every basis upon which you judge a QB, then Tebow is that guy (well, except for the fact that they both had mediocre wonderlic scores).
Tebow's release is ridiculously slow. The point at which the ball is released from his hand is far less than ideal. He doesn't appear to have adequate arm strength. With the exception of the wishbone and triple option, Florida runs an offense which is about as far away from the pro game as you can get. This all adds up to Tebow having the inability to make the throws that have to be made in the pros. There are plenty of QBs that aren't ideal in the above categories and have still been good, but I can't think of a single one that's been deficient in all of them and has still played well in the pros.
Tebow shouldn't be picked any higher than the fourth round unless someone wants to convert him to a tight end or a linebacker.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
Mel Kiper is saying the Vikings will pick him at #30.
IMO Tebow in the 3rd round is a great value. Tebow in the first round is a bad, bad pick. There's been a lot of smoke about the Broncos taking him at #42, and I would be grateful to see the Vikings take that decision out of their hands.
The thing is, he's already made huge improvements in his throwing motion, feet, etc. And he's an exceptional runner. A guy that can take coaching and is willing to improve is a positive, and Tebow is highly coachable. Give him two years under an NFL staff and he could be a decent NFL QB.

Also, Adam Schefter is reporting Tim Tebow has decided not to attend the draft.

The kid is smart. Charging ridiculous coin for autographs and public speaking engagements, he's a businessman. He may never have a successful NFL career, but he will make a whole lot of dough on the Christian circuit. Pretty brilliant if you ask me.

His advisors are smart. They know the draft will only decrease his marketability.

I bet his autobiography is already written.
Better said.
I have been on the Tebow bashing wagon for a long time, but there is something about him that makes me want to see him become a great NFL QB now. That probably is Mel Kiper and Todd McShay's fault though.
