If Sitake was pimping your DL or Secondary the way he was the LB's, I would have just kept my mouth shut, everybody knows the talent you guys have there. Your LB's however, are nothing special. What do you think the Ute reaction would have been if Hill pimped his DB's with the same enthusiasm?

Who could downplay the talent in BYU's upcoming LB corps? It's the strength of BYU Defensive recruiting, and the talent over the next few years will be phenomenal.

Ute fans should worry about who will play linebacker. Other than who steps up as the go to receiver, it is the only question mark on their team. I think JJ is the only one that is proven and that fans can trust right now. There is a lot of work to be done by the other backers this spring. Nai Fotu was moved to D end because he had trouble playing with in the system at stud lb. When he played there, all he wanted to do was rush the qb and was never playing his assignment. It concerns me knowing this that he is the guy they are planning to play MLB. MLB have to have to be able to play with discipline as well as no fear. We all know that Nai has no fear when he is on the field. I just hope he can play with discipline as well or there could be more runs like the one Robert Tourbin had to the house the opening night this season.

Can't believe Chaz Walker is old enough to be in college. I used to play with him when he was like 3.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Another issue was Fotu coming off ACL(and MCL I think) repair. He was still slowed in fall camp and did not have the quickness that Gaison had.

Free safety is also a question mark.

Who is going to be the guy to step up as the free safety? I forgot about that one as well.

The stated candidates are Spikes(a soph with some special team PT) or Washington( a RS fresh who missed the year with a shoulder injury):yikes:

The other option bandied around is Conroy Black. He certainly has the wheels, but would be moving from corner(which he may win the spot opposite Burton). Either way, I think he sees the field in the starting lineup.

I think Utah will be able to find someone to step up and play well at Free. They have a ton of athletes with speed playing in the secondary. I am actually really excited to see Washington and what he can do. That kid is a talent and I love seeing local talent succeeding past high school.

Black will definitely be in the starting line-up. He will have a spot back there.

I agree on Washington, but it sucks that he basically got 1 week of fall camp before his injury. He is basically a freshman again.

He will have spring ball and winter and summer training though. That will help big time. It is to bad he didn't get more than a week on the field though.

I'll celebrate with a glass of milk and some chocolate chip cookies fresh from the oven.
