Junkie, what is your take on Jordan Johnson? It is nice that BYU is making inroads on the East Coast, but as a DB does his height concern you? At 5 10, why do we seem to struggle to get tall guys?
Yeah his size is a concern, but 5'10 is still 4 inches taller than Brian Logan. The way we landed this kid was interesting, his dad works in the Celtics front office and Danny Ainge actually called BYU and told them they need to take a hard look at him. BYU watched some tape and offered.

I like his prospects he has good speed and had a nice sernior season.

shorter guys are the leftovers. BYU will always get the leftovers at db.

BTW leftovers can still be delicious with the right seasoning!

What is the average size of a starting CB in D-1A football? I want to know exactly how small Johnson really is. Thanks in advance.

I would say that 5"10 is probably the average.

I am more interested in what the top teams are doing at that position. But I could see how you would want to see how we stack up against teams like East Carolina and Fresno State.

LaMarcus Joyner who was hailed as the number 1 player in the country until the AA games is listed at 5'8.

The big time DB that committed to SC last night is 5'7.

I would actually wager that the average height of an NFL db is probably close to 5'11". Just a hunch.

5'10" is not that small for a DB.

5'10" seems (to me) typical for a DB. All the 6'4" speed guys play WR.

Seems strange to have LOI day over by 11:00 MST.

I wish we could have signed more running backs. The news that the all-time leading rusher was returning for his senior season must have sent many a recruit scrambling to find other teams.
