That being said if this quote is true it is low blow by BM and inappropriate "He told us about how if Kona didn’t stay true to his commit by going to Notre Dame, then he couldn’t possibly expect him to stay true to the honor code and other things at BYU."

It is a 17-18 year old kid and to imply that backing out on a verbal commitment doesn't mean they cannot live the honor code. There are plenty of kids on the BYU team that appear to live the honor code even though they backed out on verbal commitments to other team.s

It appears Bronco said and did what others (Boylen, Kelly at ND, etc) have said they would do as well. What does commitment mean these days? Ask John Edwards, Cheetah Woods.......

If you're committed, why look elsewhere? Look first, not last.

And no joke, that's pretty much what happened with me and Gidget. Like Bronco I pulled her schollie when she went tripping. But she felt the Spirit and the error of her ways and came back to me and it's been AG since!

So I have hope for Kona yet!
Call me dumb (image that), but I think there is still a good chance of Kona ending up at BYU. They may have to come on their own dime for a semester or two......but I think it still happens.

I would ove to see that for entertainment value.

Bronco's reputation among "defenders of the faith" would go off the charts.

I can see it now, Bronco plays hardball and brings back a young man from the depths of hell. Take that Utes and 1280.

Even when Utah basketball had the longest home winning streak in the nation I'd never have claimed the Huntsman Center was a bigger home court advantage than the Pit. But no, BYU fans have to have the toughest home court advantage, even this week when claiming that is counterproductive for their own team. If someone said UNLV has the best basketball tradition, I'd agree to disagree. If someone said Air Force has the most competitive undergraduate classes, I'd yield the point. I'd argue with you if you denied Utah is the best overall university in the conference academically, but that's about it. I'd probably make a case for Utah being the best overall DI tradition and program. But I wouldn't have to try to make Utah look invulnerable in every field.

Guess what. A decommit is not shameful! It means you're getting commits who are desireable.

BYU fans are such insecure assholes!
BYU also has the hottest coeds.

Ouch. What does it take to make your gemstones green and red?

The hot coed must have disappeared before I got on campus in 1991. There were few to be found. It's worse now, as I understand it. The jokes are true: our women are less desirable.

They moved over to UVSC a year or two earlier when BYU ratcheted up its academic requirements.

Man, I should have slummed it over to UVSC on the weekends.

True story: In October of 1991 I called Papa Viking (the big guy) and told him I wanted to transfer to UT Austin and come home. I was disenfranchised with what I felt wasn't a university experience but rather a never-ending EFY week.

But what was more important (but I didn't mention) is that I was disappointed in the action.

Soon after, I started hanging with the Brickers and it's been downhill ever since.

Should have gone home to UT.

Right after the mish I had all of my transfer papers ready to go to UT then I met the gal who would become my first wife--and first divorce--and stayed. Again, if I had just followed the instincts of the helmet head, so much pain would have been avoided.

That's gotta make for some interesting reads on TBS.

Or, maybe it will make for some interesting family reunions.

                          • ND secured 3 commits out of all those who tripped this weekend. Kona was not one of them. Though I doubt anything happens with him until signing day. Also, it's rumored that Kona and McKay never made it to Washington. Can anyone confirm?
