We don't like how the categories are seperated on this board.

The User Control Panel makes it easier, however, I don't participate in all threads, but I still would like to read them. And I do care about both basketball and football. Thanks for the tips, but I would still prefer to have everything in one forum, then if things get too cluttered, I can just turn off the categories I don't care about.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostActually, Moose, that format keeps things organized in threads and prevents them from moving so fast you can't keep up. Also, when you comment on a thread here you are automatically subscribed to it and when you click on "User CP" (User Control Panel) you can see if there has been any activity. You can also adjust your settings so you know when someone has posted on a thread you're posted in. (I don't do that but you might want to.)
A word to the wise: This isn't the Ute or Cougar board. You have to be basically friendly and decent here or you will soon fade into oblivion. Not saying you would act any other way, just that the WWF rules of those other boards won't fly here.
Another strange thing about this format, and maybe it's just that I don't know how to use it yet....but how does one know that I'm replying to you, unless I quote what you're saying? This forces me to quote your entire comment, which just clutters things up. I dig the outline style of utefans.net and cougarboard.com.
Another question: What is meant by "LDS sports forum"? If David Foster were not on the Utes basketball team, could we still talk about the Utes? I think he may be the only LDS player. Or is it that the posters here are all LDS? What if a non-lds poster starts talking about a team that doesn't have any lds players on it?

There is an option to switch to "threaded" view, which will show you which replies are connected to which posts. Much more like CB/Ufn.Originally posted by The Moose's Whistle View PostThe User Control Panel makes it easier, however, I don't participate in all threads, but I still would like to read them. This board has an LDS-oriented focus. Stick around if you want to capture the gestalt. If you don't want that this is not the board for you.Originally posted by The Moose's Whistle View PostAnother question: What is meant by "LDS sports forum"? BTW, as you can see you can edit the portion of a post you are quoting. Cuts down on clutter and makes the discussion easier to follow, IMO.“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

Re: Il Pad #43 & PU #45.
Interesting, I didn't know UF.N was ruined.
UF.N has the best and most unique feature of any board (sports and non-sports) that I have frequented: the ignore feature.Col. Klink: "Staff officers are so clever."
Gen. Burkhalter: "Klink, I am a staff officer."
Col. Klink: "I didn't mean you sir, you're not clever."

Yeah, but you can't ignore 90% of the board.Originally posted by USS Utah View PostRe: Il Pad #43 & PU #45.

I criticized the format of the board. I did so without name-calling or personally attacking anyone. I have yet to call anyone a name or personally attack anyone. You on the other hand have resorted to name-calling and personally attacking me, my wife, and my children. The Moose's Whistle is an entire family.Originally posted by chrisrenrut View PostYou are a prick, and I am extremely disappointed to hear that you have procreated (if anything you post can be believed), and hope the children inhereted their other parent's personality.

Many a good thing has been rendered useless by tinkering with the tried and true format. Additionally, if 7 people are proposing the change, it smacks of opinion by committee and we know how that often turns out. Finally, schizophrenia is already rampant on this board; why not set up separate accounts for all of you so we can terrorize you individually? Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.

Art, this guy seems like he wants attention. I'm not going to screw up that Moose's Whistle with a post of mine because that would be insensitive, and I would only be doing it to get my kicks.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View PostThere is a really really funny follow up that should be made with that post. That's because I do as I want. Always have, always will. If I have any more suggestions, you'll hear them. The reason I post here, despite what I believe to be a poor format, is that I find it amusing to get under your skin, and others like you. Nothing against you, I just find it amusing to get under your skin.Originally posted by creekster View PostWe didnt ask for any from you and yet you offer them freely... if you hate the format so much, why bother?
