IMO Rutgers would give the B10 the NYC market like whitney64 saying that SJSU would deliver the San Jose market to the MWC.

There are no other schools that the big 10 wants.

Rutgers is 40 to 50 miles away from me and they barely register a blip on the media radar here, even a couple of years ago when they were in the top 10.

Well, CJF, at least JoePa agrees with us:

Penn State coach Joe Paterno said in May that he'd like to see Rutgers, Pittsburgh or Syracuse of the Big East join the league. He was not in favor of revisiting Notre Dame.

Of course PSU wants crappy teams to join so they can continually beat up on them and preserve their 'elite' status.

Colin Cowherd agrees with you and after listening to why he thinks Rutgers I agree with you as well.

New Jersey is the 2nd best state for recruiting in the North East next to PA. They already own PA because of Penn St. They would dip into the the NY/NJ tv and print market. Rutgers is a good academic school. It also has 52,000 students which is Little 10 like. It is ranked 54th in the world as an academic institution. These were just a couple of points. My vote goes to Rutgers being the 12th team to the Little 10.

Maybe they can get Carnegie Mellon to cobble together a football team. It would be great!

                Sick 'em, Tartans!
Believe it or not, the Tartans was my high school's mascot name. Scotia-Glenville Tartans. Odd then. Still odd. Named after a plaid fabric. That's manly...
