Are you kidding me.....ASU is in the freaking PAC 12.

Oh crap, I thought they had just changed their name to the PAC 12ers.

There really is nothing ASU can offer Whittingham that he can't get at Utah, save warmer winter weather. But KW isn't a wuss, so ASU really has nothing.

            • DDD and other Troj-enz should be thrilled to know Jim Mora to UCLA.

Talk about a guy whose rocket fizzled. Still, I have always liked him. Not sure that this is a very good hire though.

He took the Falcons to the NFC championship his first year and I think every year since, his W-L record was progressively worse.

                    • He's such a stereotypical UCLA hire.

UCLA seems to insist on hiring its own. That works only if "your own" have done something of significance. That hasn't happened in two-three decades. Wash, rinse, repeat: mediocrity.

The Ruins were adamant that they get someone with ties to the program. I guess there isnt anybody qualified that has ties to the program. His dad coached at fucla for a short period....before he bolted.

This is a dumb football program.

                        • Since success or lack of, in the NFL means "diddly poo" when determining potential success of a college coach, I'll go ahead and take the wait and see approach on Mora. If he and his staff can recruit (particularly QBs) he will win.

You seemed to have stumbled upon the recipe for their secret sauce.

And in 3 years and 3 more losses to SC, they will be right back where they started, which is basically nowhere. Now maybe they should feel some remorse for running off guys that can actually coach and that actually take the program somewhere....Donahue, Herrick, Lavin.....all those guys that were booted look pretty good right now by comparison. Heck, even Karl Dorrell looks pretty good by comparison.

I think he played at UCLA.

I'm a modest USC fan as my grandpa taught a few classes at the Keck School and a few cousins did their residencies at LA County. But I absolutely can't stand UCLA.

Uh, oh. I'm going to try to limit the amount of times I agree with you, so signing off for now.
