I can't believe Stanford would just let Harbaugh walk though without matching. If they matched and he still took Kansas over Stanford then I stand by my statement that this was a dumb career move. There is no such thing as Kansas football.

Kansas has won a BCS game more recently than Stanford. I would guess they've spent more time ranked over the last three seasons too. That said, if Stanford matched, I agree with you.

        It does seem odd.

I would look for Stanford to talk to Chris Peterson. I think that is one of the few jobs he would be interested in. He is a No Cal kid.

If Boise State loses Peterson, I think they'll make a very nice offer to Whittingham. Boise insiders know that the job is too good for KW to pass up...

Kansas has officially denied offering the job to Harbaugh, which means that Harbaugh is officially the coach. He will announce tomorrow after attending the Heis ceremony tonight.

Maybe he wants to be closer to his little sister who is married to Tom Crean, the IU basketball coach?

I won't be at all surprised if Harbaugh gets an NFL offer. If I were Stanford, that's what I would worry about.

Other coaching news, Bill Gonzales was just hired as LSUs WR coach.

Also Mark Stoops left his brother Mike to become DC at Florida State.

Just heard on the radio that Turner Gill will be taking the Kansas job. Maybe Harbaugh was just using the KU job as leverage for a fat raise.

About time Turner Gill gets a big time gig. The guy can coach, I think Bo Pellini has been good for Nebraska but I still think they missed out on Gill.

I think Harbaugh stays at Stanford for another year, and if Richrod struggles this year with Michigan, they bring in Jimbo.
