Baltimore is one example with Dilfer for sure. Was Phil Simms a great qb? Mark Rypien? Doug Williams? Brad Johnson? Even Rothlisberger and Eli Manning I am not sure are great. In fact I see a lot of Big Ben in Tebow.

David Garrard had a qb rating of 102 in 2007 and threw 18 tds to only 3 ints. He is not a bad qb, not great but serviceable. I could see Tebow being serviceable in fact comparing him to QBs that have started games in the NFL this year I take him over Charlie Frye, Gradkowski, Russell, Quinn, Derek Anderson, Jake Delhomme, Matt Moore, Josh Freeman, Josh Johnson, Daunte Culpepper, Drew Stanton, Marc Bulger, Craig Null, Matt Hasselback, Trent Edwards, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Shaun Hill. I am sure there are others but that is a long list and shows that you do not have to be tom Brady or Peyton Manning ot make it in the NFL.

Any motivation I had in cheering for Cincy went out the window once these guys started acting like the 1986 Miami Hurricanes after every tackle. What a bunch of clowns.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

They're running "Tebow cam." It's a live stream from the game, showing nothing but whatever Tebow's doing (drinking gatorade, scratching his rear, etc). It's all Tebow, all the time.
They just informed me they ran a Favre Cam a few weeks ago.

The people behind this concept need to be shown the error of their ways.

Florida pouring it on, Tebow might throw for 600.

LOL, this is unbelievable. Really is embarrassing for the BIg East and the BCS in general to be honest.

I bet Cincy fans are glad their school wouldn't let Brian Kelly coach this game. You sure showed that disloyal SOB, didn't you, Cincinnati. I wonder when Cincy will be in the SUG unbeaten playing a team like Florida again.

I forgot to mention in the other thread that I respect Chris Hill for wisely letting Urban coach the Fiesta.

Things were different back then. I'm talking today.

I concur, and both had excellent defenses when they won their Super Bowls. Can't assign a lot of the credit for those trophies to the quarterbacks.

So yeah, if you have the best defense in the league, go ahead and take Tebow.

Otherewise, don't expect to win it all with the Chosen One.

David Garrard had a qb rating of 102 in 2007 and threw 18 tds to only 3 ints. He is not a bad qb, not great but serviceable.
I agree. I didn't intend to say Garrard was a bad QB.

Again, I'm not disagreeing with you. There is a dearth of great QB's in the NFL. I blame faster defenses and smart defensive coordinators who live to find ways to frustrate and destroy quarterbacks.

Can Tebow play? Sure. But he's no pro-bowler.

Just thinking back the last few years in the NFL, who was the last qb that busted on to the scene as a rookie? Was it Big Ben? Its always been a trend for rookie qbs to struggle, but most of them have been beyond bad. Rivers and Eli both got the opportunity to sit for at least a year (Rivers longer). I do not see any qbs in this draft becomign big time qbs either.

                          I'm talking long term.
Tebow will never be a Pro-Bowl QB.

The one thing that will really hurt Tim at the next level is the fact that his running ability will be negated. He really does not seem to have "escapability" and he will not be bigger and faster than everyone.

That is definitely a major factor.

I also don't love his arm.

As good as Timmy is playing in his final game, Brandon Spikes is matching him on the defensive end.
