If AZ beats USC, that still leaves a four-way tie for second. But couldn't the Vegas Bowl at that point just pick the third place USC ahead of the remaining second place teams?

If AZ loses to USC, then wouldn't the Bowl just prefer to pick a 9-3 or 8-4 team like Oregon State or Cal ahead of 7-5 Arizona?
In odd number years the Vegas Bowl gets 5th pick of P10 teams with Emerald getting 4th pick, in even numbered years Vegas gets 4th pick while Emerald gets 5th.

If Oregon and USC win, then Oregon State will go the the Vegas Bowl. If Arizona wins, regardless of Oregon/OSU winner, USC will go to Vegas. If Oregon State wins, then Vegas will pick between Arizona, and whoever is left from Cal or Stanford.

A BYU-Cal rematch would be interesting. I was at the 2005 Vegas Bowl.

A BYU/Stanford game would be scary. Gerhart against BYU's LBs is bad news.

How do you figure? Kal still has a conference game this Saturday, as well. If SC loses and Kal wins, how does SC go to Vegas with Kal, Stanford, Oregon, OSU, and Arizona ahead of them?

In other words, Arizona won't be going to the Vegas Bowl.

Oregon State is the likely opponent unless Arizona upsets USC.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

He'd go for 250+, easy. Would be fun to watch, at least.

Cal (you know how much it bothers me when you spell it that way) plays Washington. If Cal loses the game they don't deserve to go to any bowl. If you lose to Washington you are probably not a bowl team. Bark for Sark!

...for stanford and utah fans. I see a FSU part 3.

Meh. I honestly don't care if BYU wins or loses its bowl. Hall is who he is, this team is who they are, and I don't see a bowl loss negatively impacting anything in the long run.

There is no shame in getting destroyed by Gerhart.

                      Bronco, is that you?

I care if they win. I probably won't be at either game due to travel distance but will certainly watch from my spot on the couch and cheer for them like crazy.

I also want Max to win his last game as a Cougar.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
