    My favorite:

Non-Conference records to date: SEC 37-6 (86%). MWC 21-15 (58%). WAC 17-19 (47%). How many decades has it been since Boise State lost a conference game anyway?
Imagine that. When you have most teams playing 3 OOC home games, and some playing 4, with most of those coming against Sun Belt and FCS competition, your winning percentage skyrockets.

It would be interesting to see the percentage of OOC games played at home by each conference. I suspect the percentages would be fairly similar to the W/L percentages, but I might be wrong. BO, if you don't have a date tomorrow night, I'd appreciate you running those numbers for me.

LOL I can crunch those numbers for the last 10 years.

I did an analysis on this very subject near the beginning of this season. When I get home from work, I'll try and find it and post it here.

At the beginning of this year, I did an analysis of non-conference schedules of all FBS conferences for the 4 year period 2005 thru 2008. Some interesting findings:

The SEC leads all conferences, with 80% of their non-conference games (NCGs) being at home. 65% are home games against "non-BCS" or FCS foes. Only 15% of their NCGs are road games against other BCS schools. They are 25-26 (49%) total against other BCS teams (14-12 at home, 11-14 on the road).

The Big Ten and Big 12 both have played 75% of their NCGs at home, the next highest after the SEC. The ACC has played 71% at home, the PAC-10 is at 65%, and the Big East is at 60%. The Mtn West is at 52%.

The Big Ten has the best winning pct against other BCS schools at 59% (13-6 at home, 9-9 on the road). The PAC-10 is at 56%, ACC is the same as the SEC at 49%, Big East at 48%, and the Big 12 is at the bottom with 41%. The Mtn West is at 46%.

However, among the big 6 conferences, all of them play other BCS teams pretty close to 50-50 home/away, while the Mtn West plays 63% of the BCS teams on the road.

Taking home field advantage into account, the Mtn West would be expected to win 23 of their 48 games against BCS competition. They won 22.

The vaunted SEC would be expected to win 26 of 51. They won 25. No better than the Mtn West.

Performing the best in this regard is the Big Ten, who has won 22 of 37 games against other BCS teams in non-conference play. The expectation is they should have won only 18.

The PAC-10 should have won 17 of 34. They won 19.

The Big East are expected to have won 30 of 60. They've won 29.
The ACC should have won 34 of 67, Actual wins is 33.

The Big 12 brings up the rear, with an expectation of winning 20 of 39, but only winning 16 in actuality.

Finally, the Big 12 plays more FCS games than anyone - 22% of their NCGs. All at home, of course. The ACC is at 19%, SEC and Big Ten at 17%, Big East 16%, Mtn West 15%, and the PAC-10 at 12%.
