Didn't this poor result have more to do with the Holy Spirit's inability to flow freely through unnatural surfaces?"Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

Well the grounds crew at BYU must not know what the hell they are doing with stuff like this. See the condition of LES field during the first couple games this season as another example.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostI don't know what the Utes or UNLV think about it, I just know that BYU used field turf on their outdoor practice fields for a couple of years and didn't like it."Take it to the Bank"

I'm pretty sure both the field turf and resurfacing of LES were outside contract jobs, so maybe they just don't know who to contract, although odds are the same outfit that installed field turf at BYU also installed it everywhere else.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostWell the grounds crew at BYU must not know what the hell they are doing with stuff like this. I have heard a certain explanation from a couple people as to why LES isn't field turf yet. From my understanding, as long as Bronco is head coach field turf in LES won't happen. Take that for what it is worth.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostI'm pretty sure both the field turf and resurfacing of LES were outside contract jobs, so maybe they just don't know who to contract, although odds are the same outfit that installed field turf at BYU also installed it everywhere else.
Having had "experiences" with both and talking to many others that have played on both, field turf is the preferred surface to play on."Take it to the Bank"

Makes sense.

I too prefer field turf. It's much easier on my knees.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostI have heard a certain explanation from a couple people as to why LES isn't field turf yet. I've been on field turf many times in 100+ weather at football camps and baseball. It is hotter but I have never felt any turf that would blister your foot in socks let alone shoes. I have a hunch BYU's problem was either an installation issue or they bought the crappiest stuff available.
