    Sanford is out at UNLV

The Mike Sanford era at UNLV will officially be over once the Rebels complete another disappointing season with their finale at Sam Boyd Stadium on Nov. 28 against San Diego State. Sources close to the situation confirmed the news to The Sun on Sunday night in the wake of the ...

Good luck getting a QB coaches job in the Big Sky, Mike.

Sanford has only 15 wins in his five seasons, and only 1 of those wins was against a team that finished with a winning record: Utah in 2007. Last year he beat Arizona State which finished 5-7, and his other 13 wins are all against teams that finished 4-8 or worse.

        Five years is plenty.

My guess is that they have a lot of top talent lined up to take Sanford's job.

Who wouldn't want to coach football at UNLV?

Every time a coach gets fired at SDSU or UNLV, the questions of "why can't a coach win here" come up. It'll be interesting to see who they go after...perhaps the guy at Idaho? Or Terry Bowden perhaps? Worked with Lon Kruger...

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Perhaps TCU, Utah, or AFA's defensive coordinators?

Good idea Sitake is ready for a head coaching job. Especially after that defensive performance against TCU.

On the flip side I will donate as much as I need to if they want Jaime Hill.

Easy on the trigger. How many points did Elder Mendenhall's defense yield in his final game as a DC?

I doubt those that interview the guy for the UNLV job will be interested in the guys ability to run great firesides.

No offense, But I can't imagine the UNLV faithful are too excited about the prospect of another Utah coordinator.

At least Bowden would be a name, they could do worse than that. Does Sanford rejoin Meyer and recreate the genius that they created at Utah?
