    BYU on Grass

Why is it that everytime BYU plays on natural grass, they look like they are running on ice? When they play on turf, the defense looks fast and aggressive. When I'm not in a lazy mood, I'm going to look up defensive stats on grass vs. turf.

BYU Scoring Offense on Grass - 29.0 ppg
BYU Scoring Defense on Grass - 29.83 ppg
BYU Scoring Offense on Turf - 40.0 ppg
BYU Scoring Defense on Turf - 5.33 ppg

I think we need to pitch in and buy BYU an artificial turf field.

Wow, that's interesting. Anyone remember when we used to dread playing on turf?
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Our opponents are playing on the same turf. Maybe we need to look into the cleats we're using.

I agree. Also, don't we practice on turf? Our practice surface should mirror our field.

The stuff that's used now is waaaaay different than the astroturf of old. It's a much better surface.

I forgot to calculate the UNLV game in. The correct turf averages are:

                  BYU Offense -44.75 ppg
                  BYU Defense-9.25 ppg

It didn't help us much last year at RES and in the LV Bowl. Or maybe it did.
