    Was BYU 1980s coat-tailing Utah's 1964 Liberty Bowl team, and Lee Grosscup and . . .

    Roy Jefferson and Manny Fernandez and Bob Trumpy and all those guys who went to the NFL from Utah? And don't forget Ike Armstrong . . .

            Don't forget the Wyo 1968 Sugar Bowl team. They were ranked 5th and had Jim Kiick, and lost by a touchdown to LSU. I remember cheering for them as a kid - they were the local guys. BYU rode on thjat team's coattails too. But Utah didn't. The Utes had already been to the Liberty Bowl, after all.
