  • Do BYU fans still complain about their Offensive Coordinator?

Was that a one time thing with Norm Chow, or do you do it with Anae?

I'm curious because Ute fans who believe that Andy Ludwig both ran and threw the ball too much are now certain that Schramm and soon I'm sure Roderick also run and throw the ball too much.

Is this caused by some sort of bacterial or viral infection? Is there a vaccine?

No we just complain about the head coach, the guy who is probably going to win 10 games for the 4th straight year and has spent 1 week out of the top 25 since Republicans controlled Congress.

I think it boils down to the testicular fortitude of the mormon people being buried in Martins Cove or somewhere along Rocky Ridge.

Do Jazz fans also have unrealistic expectations and think they should really beat LA?

I think Anae has done a very good job this year. He has adapted quite a bit. I guess he got all the emails from cougarboard.

There is no vaccine, those who have been fans for more than just the last 6 years have built up a natural immunity to this kind of pointless bitching.

Anae is definitely not the problem. He has great tight ends, a great running back and a very good college quarterback. The O line that BYU has this year is probably the worst in regards to talent and the thinest that BYU has had in a long long time. He is also working with a very young receiving core that some might say lacks some talent as well. Anae is doing just fine this year. I think he has improved this season in regards to his play calling.

The problem is very clear it is the defense. That side of the ball has some major major issues.

While I agree, the offense has scored 7 against TCU two years in a row.

There are some issues there, as well.

Did you gloss over the part where he says the worst O-line in years?

No. I'm just not convinced the O-Line for 2008 and 2009 is and was so terrible we could only manage 7 points vs. TCU two years in a row.

I've said this before, but in 2006, Beck was getting the ball out in under 3 seconds pretty frequently. It was Anae's offense, but he had a better tool at QB.

Well, we allegedly didn't beat TCU in 2008 because we didn't run enough or well enough, so Anae made sure we ran enough and well enough in 2009. Fat lot of good it did us. Being able to run the ball is the most overrated factor in football today.

I agree Anae has done a good job. I think moving him to the box helped. I think the lack of success against TCU and FSU has more to do with the skill of some of the players more than the coaches.

I think the huge advantage with Beck was not how quickly he threw the ball but how quickly it got to where he threw after he threw it. It also was a huge advantage that he could make more throws. Max is adequate but for BYU to have really prolific offenses it is almost neccesary to have QBs with great arm strength.

I have no complaints about Schramm or Roderick right now. They are first year coordinators and deserve a chance to grow into the job.

My thoughts on Andy Ludwig are well documented and I don't need to say anything more about him.

Thank the Lord, someone agrees with me on this.

I tried the "Max Hall is lacking in ability" argument a couple months ago and was resoundingly shouted down.

                              I'm firmly in this camp.
