Does Utah have a chance against TCU?

Utah has a chance but it isn't likely. I'm am pretty sure that Utah will give TCU a better game than BYU did. Not necessarily because I think Utah is the better team. TCU is an awful matchup for BYU. It is similar to how Utah struggles mightily against AFA, but BYU will probably beat them by 21 points this week.As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

Why? When TCU wins, no matter how close, it is very easy to defend the position that Utah had no chance.Originally posted by ERCougar View PostThat's a great poll question!

The great thing is, we'll be playing them in week ten, knocking on the top 10's door, and the world watching. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

I'd agree with this. I don't see it as very likely and I'm sure they'll give them a better game, but it's not impossible. Somehow, SU morphed my "I'm not convinced that Utah's better than TCU until they play" into "I don't think Utah has a chance of beating TCU".Originally posted by mpfunk View PostUtah has a chance but it isn't likely. If Utah beats TCU, I'm seriously impressed with them (and very worried about playing them two weeks later). But given their unconvincing victory last year, I'm not 'scared' yet. And we all know it's all about being scared. At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Exactly! I voted no.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostWhy? When TCU wins, no matter how close, it is very easy to defend the position that Utah had no chance.
For the record, Utah has absolutely no chance at winning the National Championship, either. Sorry, just being honest!Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

So you're predicting a Utah win, I gather? Because, if Utah doesn't win, that is is essentially conclusive proof that they didn't have a chance.Originally posted by U-Ute View PostUtah's D keeps it close, which is why I think the Utes have a chance to win. Especially if our FG defense is as good as it was last year.

How can you tell whether the D or the O is keeping it close if the game is, in actuality, close? I suppose if the score is 6-3 in the 4th quarter, you could argue that the D is keeping it close.
What if the score is 27-21 TCU? Did the D keep it close or the O?Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

So you break your vow never to vote in a poll. On this one!Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostExactly! I voted no.
Actually, that was a lie. When Waters put himself up for expulsion on CG you voted for a one year expulsion. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

You know when they tell you not to pick the answer on multiple choice tests that use extreme words such as "absolutely?" This isn't one of those times.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Who knew? This is very deflating for all those who've been predicting that outcome. (Just who are those people? Are they here?)Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostFor the record, Utah has absolutely no chance at winning the National Championship, either. Sorry, just being honest!
Now, if you are saying Utah can never, ever win the NC, then we'll have to put you in same category as those wo said blacks would never receive the priesthood.
