    BYU/Church coach speak

I am tired of hearing the phrase "executing at a higher level". That phrase is horse shit.

When you get your ass kicked, you don't say that "TCU executed at a higher level". You say "we were beat by the better team". One of those two phrases is honest. The other one is trying to appease your sanctimoneous fan base.

    Separate Church from football.

We lost to the better team. They had a better gameplan than we did. They made adjustments where we didn't.

It really isn't that hard to be honest about it.

And one other thing...sticking a LB on Kerley probably (and I am using that word extremely loosely) isn't the best idea. Maybe we should try another DB. 99% of the time the extra BYU DB is going to get beat by Kerley also...but then at least we can say that it was because the DB isn't as skilled. As of right now you just look like an idiot for covering him with a LB.

Much like working out...this thing pisses me off more 2 days later.

He wanted to mix religion with football when he was hired and what better way to do that as a Mormon than acting better than everyone else. He's true to his culture and his fanbase. (Not that it matters but I'm a card carrying member)

It is the thing that drives me most nuts about being a BYU supporter. The burden of casting everyone else as being lesser people than we are. President Hinckley warned about such an attitude in conference, but I guess BYU fans prefer the go F yourselves talks from Holland and Oaks.

One little tidbit I learned at the game: Did you know Dallin Oaks was Cosmo when he was at BYU?

Feel free to dispense at your next cocktail party. Just know that my source is some obnoxious and talkative fan in section 107 who kept commenting on the TCU punter's beautiful punts during warmups.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I actually knew that. Perhaps you are not aware of how old I am? I know everything.

My dad's next door neighbor is a former Cosmo too (no joke.) He dumped his wife of 20 years for his 19 year old secretary.

I had no idea that "executing at a higher level" what a church-related expression. Do you hear that a lot at church?

Yeah, it's annoying in a b-school buzzword sort of way, but I wouldn't call it churchy.

Not going to play your patronizing game. Very Johnny Lingoesque of you though.

                            Ouch.

It was a serious question. I get tired of the church-speak from Bronco myself, but I have honestly never thought of that phrase as church-speak. Sounds more like it is straight out of a Tony Robbins or Dr. Phil self-help manual of some kind.

I just feel it is him pandering to the churchy folks and it pisses me off. And the more I hear it the more it gets me upset.

We can have a team full of Eagle Scouts and RM's, that is fine and dandy. But at some point the boys need to be coached to rip someones effing head off. But we can't do that because of the Christlike love aspect of BYU.

But I am probably one of those fans that is ignorant is all.
