OU at 5 and Ole Miss at 14 baffle me. I know the parameters of this poll are different than any other poll, but still, there's no measure I can think of that shows me these teams are slotted appropriately.

I have always thought this is the most accurate poll out there. Isn't it based on the odds if teams went head to head. If that assumption is wrong, then of course I don't think it is the most accurate poll.

What is interesting is that TCU and BYU are only 5.5 pts different on a spread (if you give 3 pts for home field) and yet they are so far apart in the poll. It just shows you how bunched together the top teams are and any team could beat another. Playoffs, playoffs, playoffs.

I agree that OU is way to high however you have to look at who they have lost to. OU lost a game to BYU that if they play 20 times, they win 19 of them. They lost to a good Miami team and Texas who is ranked #3. They are still one of the best 15 to 20 teams in the country though.

Ole Miss lost to South Carolina on the road who is a good team and against #3 Alabama. This poll doesn't penalize you for loses like other polls do. Still a good team and both loses are respectable.

I 100% think that this is the most accurate poll out there. I understand it the same way that you do.

What is the reason for BYU dropping 6 spots? A 10 point win over a bad SDSU team hurt them that much?

              It definitely didn't help.

              This article doesn't explain.

I wish this poll had more national traction, Vegas should try to wrap this up late every Saturday night and email it to every coach that has a vote in the ESPN poll.

I think you guys focus too much on placement and not enough on the point values they assign the teams.

Outside the top 4, the rest are pretty closely bunched. The difference between TCU and Florida is 11 points. The difference between TCU and BYU is 3.5

                      Thanks.

Had I noticed, I would have been a little more sinister in the post. Oh well.
