lol. those UM games were 20 years ago. you got me!

Since tressel has been at tOSU, the B10 has sucked in the Rose Bowl. tOSU has been embarrassed on a larger scale, yes (and has won a NC, too...let us not forget), but by and large, the B10 is not faring well when it stacks up against these top teams in big bowl games.

What did tOSU have going on before tressel? who do you want to replace him? I think your ire is misdirected.

The b10 needs a fundamental philosophy shift....more speed, for example. And stop playing crappy OOC teams like Troy and Ohio or whatever other D2 schools they play.

Maybe you are thinking of Florida and Michigan in the Capital One Bowl.

After that game I went Rush Limbaugh and said Pryor was not a QB. They need to move him to WR or something because he is a playmaker. But he's not a decision maker.

Just to nitpick, Limbaugh never said McNabb wasn't a QB.

You obviously aren't even aware of the extent of the B10's problems.

I know. I specifically withheld the rest of my comment to not get exute-d.

I was wrong. I was confusing Florida with USC.. My Bad..

I get the Big Ten is a joke right now.. And their style of play is all about defense and always has been. But I am focused on my team. UM has made that change and are doing fairly well. We'll see how it causes the rest of the conference to change in the next few years..

But I think speed is somewhat overrated in the other conferences.. I think Ohio State has just much speed as the next team. It is the coaching and style they play on offense that bugs me.. Tressel, is a Dinosaur and needs to go the way of the Do-Do Bird.. He has always played not to lose instead of to win, and it has caused problems... He needs to get rid of his Offensive coaches and bring in fresh blood to change his offensive style. More importantly, I want an OL coach who will make these lineman cry daily. They have been pathetic for the last 3 to 4 years..

He can still be the great coach that he is, but one of his flaws is unwilling commitment to a certain style and not adjust to each personnel..

There is a great article in the Body Issue of ESPN the Mag that addresses this and specifically why Florida is the best team in the land. Remember when Urban got there he said he was going to build the fastest team in the nation. And he has. He specifically recruits skills players with HS track experience. Reason being, game films lie. But times at HS track meets don't. They even said that coaches and players speed up game film on recruits' tapes to make them faster. One recruiter said that they were impressed by how fast one kid was until they notices how fast the cheerleaders were jumping up and down and realized the tape had been sped up.

The article went on to say why speed kills in college and not so much in the NFL. The biggest reason being is in the NFL everyone is the fastest (tangibles like vision, agility, etc separate the NFL players from good to great, not speed). Also, the NFL nullifies team speed some with their hash marks. Where as in college with the the wide hash marks a fast team has more room to run to on the wide side of the field. Also, scheming for speed can only account for so much, particularly when colleges are limited to 20 hours a week for preparation.

Speed in college is not overrated. It is very much underrated.

Daniel Coats college hands or Daniel Coats 4 drops and a fumble in the last two weeks NFL hands?
