The only way this relates to Utah is it puts the lie to the silly notion advanced by a few that that win, in week one of this season, was most important than either of Utah's BCS bowl wins. Obviously no one thinks that now. It would have been better for the MWC, however, if they had proved to be legitimate top 20 team by the end of the year. Of course, that could still happen.

That's amusing. You can't fully appreciate that win over Oklahoma without comparing BYU to Utah.

And UD is correct. This Oklahoma loss now strengthens the argument that Utah's win over Alabama is the bigger win.

            There's an argument?

Is there also an argument about who was fatter between Louis Armstrong and Karen Carpenter?

There was never an argument to be made in the first place.

In many zoob's minds, yes, there was an argument. Did you forget all the talk on several boards about it?

Perhaps those on this board before the CBers started migrating here there wasn't an argument. But Max's post tells me that he thought there was and still is.

IPU, to be fair... this thread was started as a comment by a Ute fan diminishing BYU's win over Oklahoma. The comparison was implied by the thread originator.

But was it THE MOST IMPORTANT WIN IN THE HISTORY OF THE MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE?

That Utah fans even feel threatened enough to defend the Alabama win vs. the OU win speaks volumes.

And the three losses are all to teams in the top 16 (currently) with a combined record of 17-2, while mostly playing with their backup true freshman QB. I would expect OU to run the table from here.

                            And yet it still counts.

                            Funny how that happens.

I agree, there never was an argument to be made. However, there still is one to be made comparing the Oklahoma win vs Utah's win over that awful Pitt. team.
