Looks like he'll fill in at FB well after Tonga. Does he plan a mission? When he was recruited did he use a different first or last name? I remember a Poly RB out of Mountain View, but the name seems new to me.

JoJo Pili is a running back out of Timpanogas. He is a walk on, but is planning on leaving this year on a mission.

He has two brothers Thor who played at Oregon, Snow and then UNLV, and Tolu Pili who played at UNLV but is currently on a mission.

JoJo was a beast in high school and is by far the best athlete in the family. Hopefully he leaves on a mission and we can have Pritchard play Fullback full time when he returns and Pili can take over for him.

I thought his best position in HS was MLB? I doubt he ever plays much at BYU. I think the future at fullback is Hague/Kariya for the next couple of years and then followed by Iona Pritchard. Heimuli and Peni Makafaki might work themselves in for some action or play after Pritchard depending upon missions. I think Hague might be a good one but I think Iona Pritchard will be the first one BYU has as good as Tonga. I think Pritchard is going to be a stud at FB for BYU.

Anthony Heimuli is on the team now who is from Mt. View and is a poly RB. He is a big back and could play fullback down the line, I believe he is listed at 5'11 245.

I think Pritchard moves to fullback. I think the MLBs next year will be Ogletree, Beck, Weing Lei and Jordan Atkinson. I think Keoishian redshirts. The next year when Hadley and Pritchard return I forsee Hadley redshirting while the 4 that play are Ogletree, Beck, Weing Lei and Keoishian. Then Hadley will be a back up with Keoishian the next year together as sophs. Then when Beck and Ogletree graduate those two will step in. I just think that Pritchard is too good an athlete to not play a significant role and I think this offense is so much better with a fullback who can block, and is a threat to both run and catch the ball. Next year BYU is likely to be without that IMO and it will hurt - especially breaking in a new qb.

I'd put a guy at LB over FB. All we need at FB is a big body with average speed, good hands, and adequate intelligence. That's a lot easier to find than a stand out LB.

I think the difference in BYU's offense with a really good fullback cannot be understated. As much as Unga's improved health, I think Manase getting back in shape and starting to find his groove is another reason BYU is starting to execute much more flawlessly. It really adds another dimension of pressure for opposing defenses.

Give me Iona Pritchard at fullback and give me the others at MLB. I think the MLBs I mentioned will do very well at BYU.

During the third quarter, BYU had the ball at the 1-yard line. The call came in to give the ball to Unga, who already had three touchdowns on the night. Pili was in at fullback to block for Unga. But Unga had other ideas and discussed them to quarterback Max Hall.

"The play at first was designed to be a dive for me up the middle," Unga said to reporters afterwards. "But I asked Max, 'Let's change this. Let's get Jo Jo in there.' He looks at me and said, 'I can't do that.' I said, 'Yes, you can.' He said, 'Alright, whatever.' I looked at Jo Jo and said, 'You're getting in, right?' He said, 'Yeah, I'm getting in.' It was so fun to see Jo Jo get in there and get his first touchdown. Then his expression after. That was one of the greatest feelings to see him come out and be happy, ecstatic. He said, 'Harvey, that was the best feeling in the world.' That's are the kinds of things that football is all about -- success of your teammates, to see them happy and succeed -- it's a wonderful feeling. I'm happy for Jo Jo."

Said Hall: "It's a play we've worked on a bunch. We just wanted to get Jo Jo a touchdown so we decided to get him the ball and let him get into the end zone. It's a play that was designed to go to Harvey. Harvey said no, 'Let's let Jo Jo run it in.' Instead of handing it to Harvey, we gave it to Jo Jo and he got into the end zone. It was a very unselfish thing by Harvey. I'm happy to see Jo Jo get into the end zone. I think he's worked hard and deserved it."

It is a good story. Glad it ended the way it did. Glad Bronco feels good about it. If the kid had fumbled, I imagine we wouldn't have heard what a good thing these guys did. Without winning (scoring) good intentions don't mean much.
