This "Stupid shit" was about the media.

It was the BYU fans that turned it into more than that.

SPecifically, cougjunkie. Then the chronies go crazy.

      Really?

I am surprised, however, that the BYU football program isn't more connected to the Police. Maybe it's the same everywhere. Seems that it would behoove coaches to have someone "in the know" in law enforcement that would give them a heads up on problems coming down the pike.

Either the media fell asleep at the wheel or covered up or Bronco knew about it but did nothing until the citation was issued.

        What gives?

How is it that Bronco didn't know about this for 6 weeks? That seems pretty weird. However, I guess if the media doesn't do it's job and the kids lies, Bronco can't be blamed. It's not like I expect HCs to scan the police records of surrounding cities and counties.

I'm not interested in smacking on Teo. It's a shame a kid wastes such a great opportunity.

What interest me is the time line here and the silence from the media until Teo was booted.

Bronco can do what Bronco wants to do. He pisses of plenty of BYU fans with a lot of things he does and says. However, if he knew about this and sat on it for 6 weeks, then it would certainly not be "consistent" with his public clap trap about honor, spirit, bla bla bla. That's his and BYU's problem if that's the case.

However, as I said, I'm more interested in the timeline and how the media seems out to lunch.

I mentioned the Mo Neal deal. There are plenty of other instances where a Ute has a problem and it's in the newspaper the next day.

How did this "escape" the Utah media for SIX WEEKS? This wasn't a speeding ticket.
Really. Twice I stated that I was stating I was questioning the media. I even went so far as to say it was silly to expect Bronco to review police reports.

The only thing that came close to appearing to condemn Bronco was the way you interpret what I said about him waiting to do anything until the citation was issued. I didn't say he did that.

The whole direction of my post and subesequent posts was the supposition that the MEDIA knew more and kept quiet.

FWIW, I can believe that Bronco didn't know about it until yesterday. Like I said originally, I don't think it's incumbent upon him to review all police records.

I believe I once made a reference to holding hands around the table Waltons-style... that may have been on CB, though. Kudos to AV for the reference, though.

Or how the media and BYU are in a conspiracy together. What would the media have to gain from running with a story about DUI and a BYU player?

And why in the world would they have any interest in doing that?

Because they were in conspiracy with Bronco. That was the whole point PU was trying to make!

That's not really THE point I was trying to make.

THE point I was trying to make was that I have no idea how the media picks up on a backup Ute linebacker getting into a fight or a backup kicker having a legal issue but that a BYU safety seeing playing time goes "unnoticed."

I don't KNOW why nobody head about this for 6+ weeks. That's what's strange, to me.

Ute in a fight, it's in the news the next morning. Backup Ute kicker in legal trouble, it's in the news nearly immediately.

Are you seriously suggesting there's some kind of media conspiracy in Utah to protect BYU?

I am not sure if you are familiar with folks like Portland. The two whiniest social groups on God's green earth are paranoid mormons and those not of the LDS faith living in Utah. Take one such as Portland with a disposition for stringpulling to the nth degree and mix him with some folks convinced their lack of social status in high school had more to do with different plans than others upon growing a foot or two, and not caused by their unfortunate acne or bad breath, and you have a supreme cocktail just ready to whine like the women of Srbrnca once given a spark of ignition. My guess is he will burn out here. Gunter glieben glauchen globen.....

Eventually he will wander back to Cougarboard where he can find the dumbasses he needs for affirmation of the greatness of Utenation.

This is the second time in one thread that someone has asserted "You will not last here!"

Is there some super secret underground society of hitmen that will come take me out for not being Super Cougar Apologist?

Oh. Crap. One more thing about which I need to be paranoid.

Did you guys see the Trib this morning? Bronco admitted that he knew all along and that he threatened members of the media that he would pull their credentials if they reported anything negative, he said no way we would have won any of our first 5 games without Te'os 3 total tackles on the kickoff team. He said we had a Troy Polamalu in the making that is why he protected him and he would do the same for any other star players.

So I guess the case has been solved.

Conspiracy in Utah? Nope. Favored treatment in Utah County? Very plausible.

This incident took place in Utah County. The Daily Herald should have been the outlet to pick up on this. I have no doubt that BYU enjoys a very elevated status amongst the folks at the Daily Herald.

It's not hard to believe that the good folks at the Herald turned a blind eye. It's hard not to do such when you are out at an airport tarmack in early September enjoying an inevitable BCS championship. Who wanted to put a damper on that euphoria?
