I agree. He's not going to help next year. Maybe he gets stronger over the next three years and can be a servicable player in the middle before his career is over. From that footage he does not appear to be the answer for immediate help that the team needs on defense. I wouldn't be surprised if he never saw the field.

I think he mentioned in the commitment article that coaches are looking at him to play the Mike or Buck LB position.

I'm with you HL,,,,I'm not getting that excited until he proves me otherwise.

Several reports on the TBS message board are saying that Aguirre has signed with BYU.

I watched his highlights for a few moments. He blocks a lot of kicks and his statistics indicate he intercepted numerous passes. He is also white.

I also noticed that some of his highlights were him hitting the opponent. From what little I could glean he appears to me more of a boundary corner than a field corner, aren't boundary corners expected to be a wee bit more physical?

I think the best JC recruit is the one that didn't sign with BYU, but I base that on the fact that he is the only one to garner many offers other than BYU. Time will tell if Aguirre is a legitimate upgrade to Brandon Howard.

According to his JC Coach he expects him to be an instant impact guy and to play Safety in the NFL.

Of course what JC coach wouldn't pimp their own?

Correct me if I am wrong but Fullerton is not exactly a JC powerhouse in Cal like say a Saddleback, Butte, Palomar or kraprooM?

I am sure they will get every opportunity, but I doubt they are any better of players than the current crop, or I think they would be recruited harder by programs bigger than Akron or Colorado State, and with their lack of experience methinks I see a couple of redshirts on the horizon.

The cornerback sounds to me like a legitimate talent, I am surprised he is not in more demand by some bigger schools. Time will tell.
                This is an interesting quote:

"Coaches assured me that I’d play right away," said Aguirre. “I obviously want to play and I’ll have the chance to not only play right away, but start right away."
